Creighton Game

I was able to get 4 tickets from a Cyclone friend in the lower bowl. Creighton Basketball is a pretty big event in Omaha during the Winter. Just not many tickets out there.

Got a room at the Hilton attached to the arena by Skywalk. Looking forward to the game.
That hotel is nice AF and guaranteed the team will stay there if they stay the night, but I’d imagine they’d just bus back

I messaged the alumni association of Omaha Council Bluffs, they said they don't have a designated pregame spot downtown because the bars will be pretty busy. But they are doing a game watch at
The Casual Pint
8718 Countryside Plaza
Omaha, NE 68114

Spend your money in Iowa. Go across the bridge to CB and hang out on the 100 block. Jefferson's, Barley's, or T's will be good.

I expect we thump them..Most of the team is already seasoned so don't expect a road game to be that big a deal. This is Hunter's first road test but he seems pretty confident. Wouldn't expect a hostile crowd to phase him..kinda think he'd feed off it

I certainly hope you're right, but I'm not as confident as you. We've had a lot of good teams in the past lose on the road to a lot of not so good teams. I'm expecting a close game. Hope I'm wrong and we win going away.

It's been awhile since I've been to a Creighton game, but the crowd can get rocking(And yes they sell beer at the games.)

And it very well could be the largest crowd they play infront of this year. Creighton has better attendance numbers than Kansas.

I’d like to drive down to this game from college, but tickets are tough to come by, and it’s just as hard finding someone interested in going with for an 8 pm game

Just saw this posted on the alumni of Omaha and Council Bluffs Facebook page.

This in from Travis and thanks fir setting this up..

My dad has had season tickets forever (I got to meet coach Willis Reed!), so we’ve been planning on going to this together since it was announced. And now 2 kids have the stomach flu and the trip is off. This doesn’t really have anything to do with anything, but I’m incredibly disappointed. Anyway, someone yell twice as loud on my behalf please. Should be a great environment.

So *if* ISU pulls off this road win in non flukey fashion, do people really start to let their imaginations run wild?

If ^ happens, is it warranted?

I will be shocked if that happens, but I was shocked last week so who knows

The Big 12 Grind is real. Every non-con win gives us a bigger margin of error in the league. I don’t trust this team to win more than 1 road game in the league, they just don’t know how it is yet. But win or lose this game isn’t going to hurt our metrics.

We will still take a lot of hits in conference season. But if we win this game it's "get to .500 in conference and we are in" I think.

Even if we don't, this team will have exceeded expectations

There are scenarios where 8 conference wins are enough and where 9 puts us on the wrong side of the bubble, but a road win at Creighton is a huge boost. Good news is that a loss doesn’t really hurt badly.

A road win at Creighton would be huge. I actually think just getting 1 of Iowa and Creighton lets our imaginations run wild. That said, I'm just so dang happy with how this season has gone already, and how the team is playing, I have a hard time explaining to people why.

I have a bunch of friends who are getting together for the Iowa/Michigan game on Saturday. I asked if they would have another TV I could watch the Creighton game on since they are basically happening at the same time, and you could tell they kind of was thinking I was crazy.

But I love this group because for one, they have vastly exceeded my expectations, not only with the winning but the cohesiveness and effort they have played with. Basketball is my favorite sport. Last year about broke me and these guys have brought all of that excitement back for me. I'm checking Bart Torvik, Kenpom, and Sports Reference like a lunatic. I'm looking at the record book for freshman records regarding Tyrese. I'm doing all of these things I basically stopped doing for 2 years.

If they get either of Iowa or Creighton this team likely goes 12-1 in the noncon. That's probably our best noncon mark in a long time. If they just go 8-10 in conference, which should be doable, they are at 20 wins. I don't know if that gets to the tourney but it's literally double the number of games I thought they'd win this year.
