CPR

You are. The best way to handle the situation now is to stop.
I will. But I'm also skeptical of any coach until they show me something. Everyone is convinced CMC is the second coming, yet he can't beat an average Iowa team. If we are still without a decent bowl victory in the next years, will you agree with me?

Why plan for a problem? You seem more concerned with people agreeing with you on ISU losing than what is actually taking place within the program.

This program has 8 wins the last 3 years. They haven't figured out how to win. It's a change in the culture that doesn't happen overnight. We saw us moving in the right direction with several close losses last year. And, yes, I realize a loss is a loss but we competed and we competed yesterday and we will continue to compete this year. This staff doesn't accept what was happening under CPR as ok.

I don't know what that translates to in terms of wins, but I know one of the hardest things to do in sports and life is get over the mindset of losing. We have a lot of players who haven't experienced winning in their time at Iowa State. They haven't all figured out how to win yet, but I believe they will over time as the culture around the program continues to change.

This havent figured out how to win yet is getting tiresome.....the way you figure out how to win is to Recruit Better Players than your Opponents....

It's all in the recruiting as Earle Bruce said "You cant play what you cant recruit"...and thats his exact quote btw

I'm really don't think anyone has viewed Campbell as the "second coming". What I've noticed, including myself, is that they're impressed and encouraged by what Campbell has shown so far. Yeah we stumbled coming out of the gate with the first 2 games last year but after that we started to become competitive. Hell, we took Baylor, Oklahoma, and West Virginia into the fourth quarter before finally giving up the loss. I see that as progress especially from a coach in his first year at the helm.

Secondly, I'm not ready to call Iowa "average". I agree with others, they most likely will end up 8-4 this year. If not, we can have that talk later but I think they're a much better team than you're giving them credit for.

We can speculate on bowls but if we're going to speculate would you be happy if we were 5-2 after 6 games because that's a real possibility.

Give the guy a chance. The season is young and I'm willing to let it play out. As for me, I'm feeling optimistic and like the direction this program is headed under Campbell. He's bringing a whole new culture to ISU that we haven't seen before.

Can we just get the mods to remove the thread. This is a god damn disgrace.

Campbell has been here a year and half and you already can feel the difference.

Some fan you must be. Get outta here with your bulls***

We have to remember, Bobby, that Earle Bruce went 4-7 his first three years while he was recruiting better players, developing them, and molding them into a team. Many shortsighted fans were calling for his head in that third year. It wasn't until his fourth year did we get 8-3 (and no bowl game). Four of those wins were against non-conference patsies. Earle never did win a bowl game while he was here either. I am not knocking Earle, I'm just putting things into perspective. Campbell will need time, it takes time to stock an entire squad with better players and then mold them into a team.

Personally, I like what I am seeing in the improvement in the team. I remember the days of ole Hayden beating us 57-3 or something. Some times the game was over after the first play from scrimmage. I am looking for positives in the program and I see many, many.

You don't think there is an uptick in recruiting since Campbell took over? Or do you think we should just be pulling in top 300 guys like the big boys?

Either way, it's a process and if you don't think changing culture has any relevance here, you are just burying your head in the sand.
