CPR - this is a sad day because . . .

Unless I win tickets in a contest, I sure as hell will not be buying tickets to watch this absolute **** program.

Personally, I'm not going to even bother entering any of those contests. This season reminds me of the mid 80s.

"Someone broke into my car last night."

"Oh yeah, what did they take?"

"Nothing, but they left two ISU tickets on my seat."

It is going to be hard to renew our tickets as we have been told they are going up. This along with the product on the field goes down... Don't get me wrong here as an ISU fan but it's getting harder and harder to drink the Kool-Aid.

Who cares, Squawks lost to Minnesota. Anything else today is gravy.

Still say that if ISU were in the Big X, they'd have had a winning season.

Jesus, posts like this are the ISU culture in a nutshell: rely on how Iowa is doing, and pretend the football team would be good in a different conference. They are down 24-7 to KANSAS.

Ahhh little bro syndrome - who the hell cares, stop being jealous of a ****** conference/team. Doesn't make any difference

FIFY. I'm chugging down the Basketball koolaid.

After today's abysmal performance by the team against one of the worst teams in the BCS, I'm afraid Paul Rhoads' tenure as head football coach is done. It's only a matter of when JP can line up candidates before the ax falls. I'm sure Mangino will be one of those candidates to replace CPR. Sad to say, but the team is regressing badly and probably will lose out the remainder of the season. I've been a CPR supporter since the beginning, but I'm afraid not only he's lost the fan base, but the he seems to have lost his touch with his players as well. The team simply was not prepared to play today which falls back to coaching, and CPR, as head coach, is primarily responsible for the lack of preparation. IDK who would be a replacement to take the FB program forward, but someone else needs to take over.

If my daughter transfers out of ISU next year (she is a freshman, but it hasn't been a great fit for her) I don't think I would renew my FB tix next year. I have had tix probably 10 of the last 15 years (when kids in jr high / hs just could not get to games due to their activities).

We live 2 hours away, and it's a huge time commitment to pack, tailgate, watch game, and come home. It kind of burns your whole weekend. And what, 2 home wins in last two years? I need at least some hope, and/or visiting my kid to justify the time. And it really is more time than expense. I would prob take the ticket $ and use some of it to up my NCC level a notch and get better bb seats.

We all really loved Paul Rhoads and wanted so badly to see him succeed. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear he can do it.

Seem to have several years of pain whether he's here or a new coach is coming in, not saying that as a reason to keep him, just feeling unhappy over the prospect.

I concur. I loved the guy's passion and his love for Iowa State. He'll be a dead man walking next year if we keep him on. I didn't expect to feel this way, but I'm in the camp of starting fresh next year with a new regime and new stadium. Unfortunately, I think he's done.

Fans will come back next season just do to the new stadium additions. I would wait a year. We cant afford 5 million.

Can't afford 5 million up front but can afford the potential economic downfall of a lifeless program? Do you not understand basic economics and trends?

Guess what folks, we are a BCS school, there will be guys that want to coach here. Coordinators and retreads of course. One obvious replacement is Mangino. What about Bohl from Wyoming? Keep and eye on....Matt Wells. He is the head coach of Utah St at this point. I would assume Luke Wells would end up being the OC if this was the case. I am sure there are plenty of others that would want to be here.

Anyone hear how much that crappy Kansas program has and is paying out to three fired coaches over the past six years? I don't believe that coming up with 5+ million is really an issue, especially given the recent TV revenue increase.
