Congrats from a BYU fan!

Get the pork producers to serve bacon
Last year I got tickets to the pre-game hospitality tent before a game.

They prepare a meal themed after the visiting team’s location.

I hinted strongly that I wanted tickets to the tent for this game because I felt like a theme of food from the state of Iowa would have been pretty great.

No luck, so we had to settle for cougar tails in the stadium.

The Jack Trice piece by BYU TV was so impressive and says a lot about BYU that they are so interested in the story. I don't know if they used existing interviews from the various persons in the piece or did if they did them themselves, but for sure they brought one of their own football players here to make a major contribution to the project. This, along with all the positive comments from those of you that made the trip out there, make me feel very good about have BYU joining the conference!

Hi Cyclone fans. Just wanted to congratulate you guys for a dominant performance. I hope those of you who traveled to Provo had a great experience. We try to be as hospitable as possible to the opposing fans who make the long trip to Provo and I hope you felt some of the good hospitality. I hope you guys win out and do great in whatever bowl game you play in.
Thanks Cougars fan(s). I am so glad we were able to get the W, it just happened to be in Provo. Your time in the conference will come, I'm sure. Good luck the rest of the way.

Many of us follow the 49ers now as Brock Purdy is their QB. He is a great story in the NFL this year and last, and was great for us, 4 year starter.

I just now looked up Fred Warner, 49er LB, wondering where he played college ball. I learned that it was BYU!!

That's a really great tradition especially when juxtaposed next to the schools where you don't want to visit as an opposing fan due to their moronic fanbases. Iowa and TOSU come to mind regarding that.

I'm glad you guys are P4 now. It's deserved for sure. Especially after getting left out from the original Big XII due to Texas/Baylor politics.
Seeing this in print for the first time, the P4 part. Yes, happy that BYU is in conference now, but realizing that the Pac 12 is done now. Sad.

BYU TV did a piece on Jack and how the plaque had been lost to history for a time. I believe George was on the broadcast. They played it on big screens where the broadcast was happening. I was impressed that many BYU fans watched intently and even commented to us about it being a powerful story.

BYU trip was incredible. Probably jumped to number one for me as a visiting fan, definitely top-tier! Everyone was so nice. Almost made an "Iowa nice" guy like me uncomfortable. I'll be back, we travel out there in 2026, right???

Edit: can we get Cougar Tails shipped to Iowa?
You want some more cougar tail??????

Do you remember when they beat number one Miami in the early 90s?
I'm addressing specifically their period of "independence". Their AD et al were so angry about not being taken with Utah to PAC, that someone somehow deluded themselves into thinking leaving MWC was a brilliant idea. Sigh. Not so much. While the temptation to schadenfreude is definitely there, especially seeing them get hammered at home, I'm far more inclined to have full sympathy (not just mere empathy) for the struggles they will endure. And I feel far more for the BYU fans of my generation (late Boomers) who have had the yo-yo experience no one wants over the last 15 year or so.

I have no idea why you think staying in the MWC would have been better for BYU.

Their revenue per year nearly doubled:
They had one losing season, but otherwise went to a bowl every year (2011-2022):
They were on national TV 87 times (15th most of any program):

It would have been great to go to a P5 conference in 2011, but your perspective that the last 12 years have been some kind of football wasteland is pretty funny.
