Congrats from a BYU fan!

BYU seems to be the most ecstatic of the "new 4" and possibly even "next 4" to be joining the B12.

That means something to me.

I am on some New Big 12 board on FB, both Utah teams are batshit crazy on the internet. Not aimed at the OP but everything is Utah vs BYU with lame ass takes. Must be a Utah thing. Its probably not different with us and Iowa, but its new and strange. lol

We should have added BYU a long time ago in several of these earlier “Big 12 missile crisis” moments. They were always the one readily available program that brought at least as much as their “piece of the pie” in those days when that was what it was all about. WVU and TCU have been good additions so I’m not saying instead of them, but probably in addition to them.

Louisville was publicly begging to get in before they joined ACC, if we had to have even #s they could have been the other.

BYU will be fine, too much fan support, history and money. They in a diwn year right now but they won’t be down long.

Maybe good to have this road game now. We aren’t back there until 2026. (if that schedule is even a thing that long)

It sounds like a really good time for the Cyclone fans in attendance! I loved the Jack Trice that you guys did yesterday. It's safe to say that no other team has done anything like that.

I know it's been a tough year for the new schools, but it'll just take a while to get used to playing tough teams week in and week out. I think this new conference is going to be a good time once we dump Texas and Oklahoma.

What did they do related to Jack Trice?

BYU TV did a piece on Jack and how the plaque had been lost to history for a time. I believe George was on the broadcast. They played it on big screens where the broadcast was happening. I was impressed that many BYU fans watched intently and even commented to us about it being a powerful story.

BYU trip was incredible. Probably jumped to number one for me as a visiting fan, definitely top-tier! Everyone was so nice. Almost made an "Iowa nice" guy like me uncomfortable. I'll be back, we travel out there in 2026, right???

Edit: can we get Cougar Tails shipped to Iowa?

I had hoped to get on here sooner, but circumstances made that difficult. As a BYU alumni and native mid-Westerner I had looked forward to the Iowa State game as it was the first of the traditional Big 8 teams coming to Provo. I apologize that our team could not give a better showing and given our current situation it may be several years before we are really competitive in the conference.

On a more positive note, the Cyclone fans that my family and I met at the game were great and represented all of you well. Congratulations on both the result of the game and the goodwill that your travelling fans helped to develop.

I was at the game in Provo. BYU fans couldn’t have possibly been nicer to us. Was a really pleasant experience.

BYU has a beautiful stadium, would have been really picture-esque if kickoff was a couple of hours earlier. The fans were loud on the few instances they had something to cheer about, and extremely friendly and nice. We were not sitting in the visitor section, we were two red dots in a sea of blue. BYU fans were introducing themselves to us, chatting with us about what to expect from their team and asking about our team, and even giving us a high fives when isu made good plays.

The last away game I’ve been to was in Iowa city, I had to have a chuckle about the contrast in the way we were treated.

Overall would love to go back, SLC is really cool and we were able to check out some breweries and good eats.

Only complaint was the lack of tailgating. We went to the only bar in Provo before the game, they were understaffed and underprepared for the amount of cyclone fans in there.
