Conference realignment train coming down the tracks again?

I wish we could have just stayed with the old conferences. Seriously hate the Big 10 for doing all of this. I understand it is all about the money but it is getting annoying. They are ruining college football with this. It ruins rival games.
Yeah. This would never happen but in my ideal world/if I was God, the NCAA would say **** it, break up the conferences and make it based on Geography and a little bit based on talent.

I would love to have Vtech, great people out there. They are a very similar school to ISU - very strong engineering/ag programs.

FSU would be an interesting get as far as volleyball (which obviously doesn't play in at all). They beat us out last year for the Final Four and we went down earlier this year to play them. CJL has done a Florida region tournament/game the last several years, and they've been really good games. Adding FSU would definitely cement the Big 12 as a top volleyball conference.

Pay attention to what Maryland negotiates the $50 mil buyout down to. If it's something reasonable, I wouldn't be surprised if FSU & Clemson look to eject...

Would be nice to know that #, but it'll likely be months down the road before it's known. Doubt the Big XII can afford to wait for that outcome.

Maryland Reminds me of Oregon

Oregon has Nike
Maryland has under armour

Maryland could go big time with all of their soon to be found $$$

FSU is the big dog here people TV SETS in Florida!!!!!

After that Virginia Cavs or V-Tech Get in the Baltimore and DC market.

UConn Brings ESPN

Phew! At least we don't have to worry about the viability of Big 12 volleyball!!!

Now don't come in here and attempt to apply common sense to this chaos.

Unfortunately, regional conferences would never work out. There aren't enough TVs and money in the midwest to make it work. The only way you would see this is if the NCAA had control of ALL of the TV money and could split up revenues to everyone.

That wont happen because the bigger conferences would lose money on the deal.

I think the big 12 schools have recently signed away their tv rights to the big 12. Would be tough for a school to leave without league dissolving.
I trust nothing when it comes to realignment. Best of the ACC and best of the big 12 could organize votes to dissolve and leave some folks out before solidifying their own 16 team conference. Also the PAC 12 needs 4. It's a matter of is Isu part of 64. Today they are tomorrow can change quickly though

Unfortunately, it's nothing a few attorneys couldn't severe especially if it is what the Almighty ESPN wanted. It's time for the Big XII to go on the offensive (FSU, Clemson, Pitt, Louisville). Crush the BE and ACC at the same time.

What would you do if you were the head of the conference and just had to watch the season you just saw. You've got one NC caliber team and they are under sanctions that prevent them from playing any post season, the other decent team, well, we all know what happened at PSU, the rest, just plain suck. Might as well expand. IF you can find a way to break every other conference, you win, even if you can't do it on the field. At the end of the day, look at the business climate in the 80s, this is what we are seeing here, "Can't beat em, buy em!" then sell off the crummy parts to the cheapest bidder.

Sorry, I asked my 8 ball this question and it said f-no.

You know what just ******* sucks? I un-followed Swaim, Doyle, Chip Brown, Thamel and others on Twitter on Saturday thinking "well, the alignment saga is over. Tired of these guys clogging my Twitter feed." Son of a *****. I hate this ****.

The signing of GOR was a huge good thing for this conference to do. I really do not see anyone leaving our conference instead expanding if they want to. Do we really need to follow suit?

Delany should be ashamed. What does Maryland and Rutgers bring? Purely a money grab. I guess there's never enough, but at least Nebraska was a brand name FB program with excellent facilities and attendance. Rutgers and Maryland are mediocre programs at best and the only thing they add are TV sets.

Well - at least we now know who to blame...
