Personally can't make it tonight, but the Hockey Band will be there!
albeit, probably without a drummer...
I'll be there tomorrow night though, and hopefully with the hockey band, although we're super shorthanded for the Saturday game because of the Women's Basketball Game (many of our members are in Pep Band).

They're ranked 5th nationally among D-1 club teams. ISU is actually really good at hockey
Heres a few reasons why personally I dont go. I do like to see isu succeed at things, but when the money that would be paid to buy a ticket doesnt go back to the athletic department, thats less of incentive... The time of the games... the fact that its still club, no matter how you spend it. the price of a ticket. and to be honest, not much a hockey fan unless its the olympics. (most people fall under one of those reasons to not go)
I went to ISU between 95-99 and the hockey team was great. They played in the piece of crap rink and served beer, The student section had great chants (some might have included profanity) it was a great time. The team is ranked 5th and some people are saying they are not good. Others are complaining that the money does not go to ISU, who cares. It is a winning team with a big time tournament in your town. Hockey is great live it does not translate to television at all. The players play for ISU and should be supported. I promise the team plays hard all 3 periods and know how to play the sport.
I agree with this. I was at ISU at the same time frame(96-00). The games were a blast. The crowd was rowdy (side effect of the beer). You are right on top of the action. The crowd actually, would get to players on opposing teams.
I have heard that it has tamed down when they moved to the new arena, though.
The chants are still just as vulgar, I promise. The only thing that sucks is you have to go outside between periods to drink, minor inconvenience though.
I miss going to hockey games at ISU. Probably the most underrated thing to do at ISU. Do they still let you drink there? We were always one of the best club teams when I went to ISU 00-04. Seems like Penn State was kinda the rival then.

I wasn't there, but one night I remember things got pretty ugly in the stands. DPS got called. Pretty outta hand i guess.
Wow! When was that? The best we've done in the last two or three years is making opposing players cry and getting the Kent State coaches yelling at us because we kept chanting "Kent is not a state". We've also gotten players kicked out for game misconduct penalties because they started flipping out at us.
That, my good sir, is where you are wrong. Simply bring your favorite wine skin of vodka/rum/whiskey to the game under a sweatshirt. Don't get checked at the ticket office, walk right in, sit in student section and mix with your drink. TADA!
Touche sir. The least of your worries is getting checked at ticket office. They don't give a crap. They used to have an officer at all the games too(he would just stand in back up top looking like he hated his life) but I haven't seen one since winter break.
Bingo. Used to be the cheapest way to get drunk at concerts at Hilton also. You can put a lot of vodka on yourself. Buy a couple sprite's and mix the worst wannabee vodka sours known to mankind, but you will get ****ed up!
