Question... just because those schools are listed under college choices... does it really mean they are looking at him? Or could it be that those are schools that he's interested in?
If a kid gets a letter from a major college coach sometime during his HS career, he can say they are interested. I have a hunch some overzealous parents use that as leverage. Invite to elite camps or official visits or the coach in your living room would be a more acurate measure of interest. I have no idea which schools have interest in Iverson.
Well stated Geezer. Both players and parents are often overzealous. In their minds, sometimes a simple letter from a school translates in their minds into a scholarship offer. Players often exagerate offers they have received to save face or to try to improve people's perception of their skills. The only way to know is if a credible source from the coaching staff says a school is recruiting so-and-so. In this case, I don't think the ISU staff has an interest in him at this time.
But as far as rivals goes... having a team listed... is that put in by the player and his personal computer, or does a school go to the player's page and click something saying they're interested?
It seems to me like it's a player saying, "This is the list of schools I'm interested, I have high interest in these schools, medium in these schools, and low interest in these schools, and no interest in Iowa"
not the player saying, "Well, these schools have high interest in me, and so on"
and not the school saying, "We have (high/medium/low) interest in this player.

I saw Vette last nite on TV in a 2A vs 3A allstar game. He needs a redshirt year. He looked like he could move around the basket, but he needs size.

Just passing on what I've heard, but I've seen a lot of Hawk fans talking about him on the forums. I know both Miller and Kakert have mentioned that Iowa is quietly looking at him, and seeing what he's made of.

I think you hit the nail on the head Bronco. I think D1 recruiters are unlikely to publish the names of all the recruits they are targeting. Why would they show their hand to their competitors? Just my take.

I'm not sure how much there is to this, but scout shows that ISU has offered him

He's not a built 245, and I think 245 is stretching it.
And let's just say when I played against him in HS, he didn't seem that good, but obviously he's improved still, ISU is either fudging on his size or he wasn't using it. Of course, it was an all-star game, so I suppose I shouldn't expect much out of that, but having played against him and whatnot, I'm going to be surprised if he ever is going to start for us, namely because I think we will bring in better recruits, not due to lack of talent. I think a redshirt year would be best for him. Not saying he can't develop, I just think he needs time if he stands a chance.
Then again, I sucked hard in HS, so I'm probably not a measuring stick to go by.

I think Psychedclone was saying we haven't offered Iverson and it doesn't look like we are going to be offering him. We have offered Marklof and is one of the bigs McD is persuing hard.
