Cody Chittum Flips Commitment from the Hawks to Iowa State!!

Okay, he graduated early but was he actually enrolled at Iowa or was he essentially taking a gap year and just training there? My take is gap year since the articles talk about training with the Hawk Wrestling Club and not the team.
Graduated a year early...took a grey shirt. Think Paniro how he came to ames and trained for a year without being enrolled.

He grayshirted at Iowa, never enrolled so the transfer portal rules wouldn't apply to him. He will be training up in MN until World Team Trials then in Ames afterwards.

I’m thinking Dresser has the experience to have had the necessary conversations with the affected wrestlers/team. It’s surprising to me how many coaches think they can just drop in another wrestler and think there would be no consequences. Maybe in the “olden” days when transferring was actually difficult Now you are recruiting your own wrestlers as hard as you are new recruits.

This is what NIL helps to do! We need more help yet. Give to the CRTC or the new Collective. It all helps. We have been in on more of the top transfers than people realize.

It takes $$$$ and hard to compete with PSU & Michigan, but Dresser isn’t leaving any stone unturned. Hence the Chittum commitment

Agree. It takes stacks of cash to crush the hoks. Money well spent and I’m happy to donate.

That's completely unfair - he grayshirted at Iowa and was there all this year. He left because Tom and Terry hitched their wagon to the Ferrari brood who are all extremely talented but also apparently world class a holes.
So, he wasn’t even there a full year. Plus he committed to Minnesota before Iowa. Now, ISU is the 3rd college he’s committed to before even wrestling a match in college.

That is on top of multiple moves in high school.

Not unfair at all. The kid likes to move.

Pretty sure he was home-schooled unless I'm wrong so the moves at least in high school could be viewed differently.

Honestly WTF will it take to make you happy with Cyclone wrestling? All you do is come here and sh*t all over everything. Like playing chess with a pigeon

I’m very happy. I’ll take Chittum even if it’s for a year.

If you think Chittum is going to be here 4-5 years from now I have nice bridge you may be interested in.
