Coach Otz

I'm going to preface this by saying I am not disparaging TJ at all as he is clearly the CEO of this team, and people are quick to jump all over one another here.

But, my question is how much of what we are seeing is TJ vs his supporting staff (Green, etc.)? TJ is very active on the sideline during the game, but his assistants seem to be more involved than I've ever seen. He seems to consult with them pretty much constantly mid-game and I've noticed a couple times the past few games where the timeout huddles have been led by assistants. Not sure I've seen a group of assistants so actively involved in games (or perhaps I've just never watched/noticed).

Just an observation. Part of being a good leader is knowing how to let others contribute and building a team to compliment your strengths.

Well he hired them, so he ought to trust them to do their job and help/coach. That's my 2 cents anyway.

except for the last 10 minutes of the ou game , this team is so much better prepared and coached then what we have seen in the last 5 years.

No disrespect to the current guys but I'm looking forward to really talented players coming up under TJ. gonna be exciting

If this is the foundation and the talent goes up with similar hard nosed style of ball ISU should have some nice teams going forward.

TJ, the staff, and the team are adjusting and growing. Since TT, more back cuts, a little less predictability in offense initiation. A couple interior feeds.

I agree that maybe a little too much of the 1-3-1 defense, but I was surprised when they jumped into it and so was KU.

Love it!

I did, and that wasn't what happened.
He'd rally the staff, like everyone does, then go back and take over the huddle.

I saw Lutz & Sattler do a lot of TO coaching during Fred's early years. Toward the end, Fred led most TO's after consulting coaches.

Also early on, if ISU was playing well, the players were back on the court way before the TO ended. As the years passed, it seemed like he held the huddle to the end regardless.
