Coach Mann Tweet

How about Johnny Orr coming to the Baylor game and the unveiling of "Johnny Orr Court" before the game or halftime or something along those lines? Nobody's suggested that yet I don't think. That'd be something for current students and alumni to be excited about.

I'll bet on this horse, especially if alumni fans would be pleased in the original quote.

The court would have to be sanded down and repainted as the paint is below the seal. It's a week long or better process so Johnny Orr Court would have to be unveiled at the start of the season.

If we are just talking about announcing that it will be Johnny Orr Court, that's a different story...

Maryland named their court after Gary Williams in the middle of this year.

Johnny's at Hilton and his statue is the recognition Coach Orr has in Hilton.

Yep. Besides, since we wont be renaming hilton anytime soon (or at least i'd hope not) probably good to keep the court un-named for potential future sponsorship opportunities.

Ivan's younger brother Igor Chiriev is now a high school senior. At 7'3 he is a couple of inches taller than his brother. Just like older brother Ivan, he too can play all 5 positions- only better than Ivan. He can dunk, penetrate, dribble, pass,, hustle, bang in the paint and shoot from beyond the arc. Igor is even more highly sought after than was Ivan. Although the NBA needs him, and he'll likely be a lottery pick, he wants to do a year of college. Because he is also very intelligent, he is confident he can get his medical degree by attending college for a year.

I think Fred may have pulled a rabbit out of his hat. I think Igor Chiriev will be ours.

The court is modular, and a couple of replacement pieces with Johnny's name on it could have been made.

I am pretty familiar with these courts. I have put together several different ones hundreds of times. I would be very surprised if they did this on the playing surface without the pieces being sealed while together. You don't want variation - even small variations in the level of the surface. Even a small lip from one to the other would result in a trip hazard at basketball speed. I suppose they could sand out the variation once it is put together, but it still isn't as easy as just slapping an alternate piece in. Besides, sanding that sealant would probably result in a hazy spot on the floor. If it was just going out of bounds they might have a little more leeway, but they are still pretty critical as it is still considered the playing surface.

I could be wrong but I just can't see them doing that midseason.

Any jerseys up for retirement? I know some of the legendary ones are ineligible...

CF gets a national award for editorial sportmanship.

Don't they slap in new pieces all over the country for the NCAA Tournament?
