Cincinnati line

Cincy has a good track record against us. This game is gonna be good. We gotta get back to playing ISU basketball and not the game our opponents make us play, if that makes any sense.

Good track record against us? What track record could possibly mean anything? They beat us with the player of the year in 1998 or something? Lol

The following things had to happen for us to lose by 2 to a good basketball team:

-We had to go 3/17 from 3
-UNI had to go 13/22 from 3
-Washpun had to hit some ridiculous shots over not just his guy but McKay
-We had to give away a possession with Georges at the end and Morris had to miss
-All of this while trying to replace a 2 year starter and working a new guy in

Let's just cool the jets on there being huge problems we haven't seen before. This team wasn't going to morph into some version of a Huggins team on the defensive end and we knew that. When a team shoot like UNI did combined with ISU shooting like they did, you are often going to lose. We were able to balance that out in the turnover battle and OReb. Pile on top of that that Morris isn't 100% and sometimes you just lose in college basketball. What is really annoying is people acting like we lost to a bad team.

All I hear is we lost because they had hot shooting... really you don't think we will face that in the NCAA tournament if we make it and in the big 12, we need defense not just oh well they shot really well so we lost. just stupid.

CF is starting to feel like the game at WV last year. Hopefully we have the same results.

Cinncinati is tough on their home court, but if you look at who they've played and who they've beaten, it's really not that impressive. We win by 8.

Summary: They're all mad we lost, they wanted to beat a top 5 team.
They all pick Cinci.
Of course they all say our lack of depth will be the difference.
The way we've played the last 5 games of course they are licking their chops. Undeserved top 5 ranking and unproven. Fat cats going to slaughter against real teams that play with grit and hunger. Perhaps a player's only meeting is in the near future, those usually change things.

Do you think a posters only meeting would help this board? I know of at least a dozen that need some sort of intervention, to talk them off the ledge.

Candyland and Mordor, huh? Interesting word choice there.

Part of being an adult is not overreacting and being able to admit when you're wrong. Hopefully you're and to do the later when we win tonight.

I got on this thread to check out the line and gave up after sorting through a couple pages of 'the sky is falling' and 'we only lost because UNI shot well.' I believe the fans on here falling into either of those categories are wrong.

The sky is not falling and this is still our best chance to win the Big 12 in the foreseeable future. UNI beat us because they played better and took us out of our game, not because they were "unconscious." I find it amusing that some people treat another team shooting well as an anomaly, as if our embarrassing ball screen defense wasn't the root cause. Nonetheless, the issue is fixable through coaching, which is good news.

Tonight's game will likely require toughness on the boards and on defense. We have not looked good in the half court so far this year and we have to get out in transition; especially against a team like Cincy. We can't do that if we fold like a cheap lawn chair on defense.

I also think we have to get more out of Nader and Thomas; especially Nader. He has seemed out of the flow of the game most the time and plays with his head down. He has looked like that guy at the 'Y' who you hate on your team who shoots or turns it over every time he gets the ball. He has way too much talent to continue to play like this.

I am excited to see how we come out tonight. I have no worries about our 'Big 3' and will be paying close attention to the rest of the cast. No reason for anyone on here to be anything but pumped for an opportunity for a statement win. Go Clones!

The ISU ML would be my bet if I decide to bet on this one. Cincy is going to be tough but hopefully we bounce back.

I agree. I'm also considering 1h Cinci. Our amazing ability to suck in the first half makes that one very tempting.
