No cyclone fan really thought we would lose that way. Credit to NDSU, but it's not like Chris was thinking anything different than the vast majority of the fan base was.
I can't believe someone took the time to type out that conversation. Get a hobby. Being in CW's position means you occasionally make public predictions that look bad after the fact. As has every sports reporter/fan/pundit/armchair quarterback since the dawn of time.
Besides, the NDSU guy was a bit of a *******, dontcha know.

If the roles were reversed and CW went on the LHN and made a prediction like that, and then was ridiculed by the host of the show we'd have our pants in a wad complaining about he arrogance of Texas.
I am sorry Chris, I like this site and you do a fine job here, but I think you were out of line with the arrogance.
That said, as Cyclone fans we have bigger fish to fry.

How is correctly assessing each team's strengths/weaknesses arrogant? You could easily make the argument that it is arrogant to underestimate opponents just because ISU is in the Big XII and the other team is not. (In fact, I just made that argument.)

Hey, the team was sick and dehydrated. Let's have a:spinny: replay.
Okay we made few mistakes for a first game. The other team did slightly better for mistakes. It was a drab game overall and we slowly let the game get away in the second half. I do not blame the defense, I just wonder why we could not complete longer passes on the offense. Bibb and Jarvis should have been set up to make plays. If Bibb was triple teamed, why did we not take advantage of this? Was the playcalling bad in the end? Do we need to call plays with a dartboard up in the pressbox? The running plays were sad in the second half.

A lot can be lost in reading a transcript of a conversation, but based on the transcript alone, I thought our guys didn't handle the discussion in a very professional way and came off sounding far worse than the NDSU guy, even if the latter was somewhat arrogant himself. He, at least, was backing a team that has historically given him some justification for that attitude.
That is the exact thing I thought when I read that. At least he can read minds, so he could know what the opponent's coaches were doing next.
Some of you don't think that the Bison fans were arrogant before the game? Are you serious? NDSU had as unproven a product as we did to be making the predictions they were making. They thought they had a culture of winning, while ISU did not deserve to be in the same field as them. If you even glanced at the Bisonville forums, you would notice that they LITERALLY called our program a piece of ****.
I'm glad we stood up and talked smack back. What should we have done? Say: "I agree, we suck, our football team is ****?" Be silent, like a bunch of *******? I would rather go down swinging.

Winning at K-State really has gone to their heads. The guy was being a total **** by making that big of a blowout prediction and was dealt with accordingly. Everyone involved knew the homerism of the NDSU person lomg before he came on. They chose to mock him before during and after.
Very unprofessional. It doesnt matter what the opposing guy was like. Its probably someone that shouldn't have been invited on in the first place. The only reason he was invited was so he could be mocked.
Edited to add this sentence: the worst part of the interview was mocking the pronunciation of "Bison" repeatedly. That was particularly unprofessional.
They hoped it would be fodder for weeks that could be used to mock and rub it in.
Turns out they were right

Well, If I had known that ISU was going to be without their starting safety, center and top playmaker, plus his backup after the first quarter I would have taken his prediction a little more seriously. I was expecting a real dog fight, but ISU had a lot of their top dogs on the sideline.
Hey Chris... Maybe NDSUJohn can start doing a prediction segment on CyFan? It appears his football intelligence is superior to that of every single person you had make predictions in that article from last week. Maybe it would give you an opportunity to bring in a little credibility and show humility at the same time ay?
