Chris Williams: Real quick, we need a pick from you, John. Who do you got and what's the score?

NDSU John: I got NDSU and I absolutely believe they'll win by double digits. So...

Brent Blum: LOL. Wow??!! What??! Wow??! Wooo!

Chris Williams: JOHN???!!!

NDSU John: I put it somewhere around NDSU 35-14. I don't see how you guys put up over 17 points. It would blow my mind-it really would.

Chris Williams: All right. Well, we're gonna quote you on that. We got this recorded and we're gonna play it on the air next week if Iowa State puts up more than 17 points.

NDSU John: It's the same song and dance the Kansas State guy said to me last time. They called me a homer. They said you're coming to play the big boys. It's fine. They tend to forget me the week after the game, but I do appreciate being on with you guys. Anytime you guys want to talk Missouri Valley football or NDSU…

Chris Williams: (Interrupts, very condescending) Trust me, we won't be talking Missouri Valley football again…but if Iowa State plays NDSU again, we'll absolutely call you again. (trailing)You've been a great guest.

Several minutes later………….

Brent Blum: Our buddy John from NDSU needs a physical. My word man.

Chris Williams: Now that you've had time to digest that…

Brent Blum: I'm floored.

Chris Williams: The thing is…I know they're good. It's not like we were coming off as these condescending Iowa State guys, were we?

Brent Blum: No. Well, maybe in his mind. To predict that an FCS team would beat a Big 12 team, even though they won 3 games, we realize this, by 3 TDs...is just asinine. It's a shame that the college football playoff is only 4 teams because if there were 5, NDSU would be in it.

Chris Williams: What boggled me about the conversation we just had,though, is that much confidence in anything. I've been saying all week from an Iowa State standpoint, I'm not concerned about North Dakota State because I know they're going to be good. I know exactly what to expect from the... BIZON (condescending) on Saturday. It's all Iowa State to me. And 2, for him to be so guaranteed lock-down, Iowa State's not scoring 17 points…That's ASININE.

What is the point of calling people out for being wrong on a prediction? Everybody is going to be wrong from time to time. Only clown here is the op for this post.

My pal John was way off. He had 35-14. Score was actually 34-14.:smile:

Just think about how he (and Brent) would have sounded if they'd both said, "yeah, Iowa State won't even score more than two touchdowns, with the second one coming at the very beginning of the second quarter. Oh, and we'll lose by 20 in a complete laugher." I doubt people would be cheering their accuracy.

I like that the OP took the time to re-listen to the podcast and type out the transcript of that conversation.

At the time we were up 14, UNI was ahead of Iowa. How fast things changed.

Yep we were all fooled. Also I don't think any ISU fan should talk trash or be condensing to any other fan base - it just makes you look stupid.

I think almost all of us owe NDSU fans an apology. Fact is, our team didn't belong out there yesterday. Completely outclassed in nearly every facet.

If someone watching that game had no idea which team was which, you would have sworn NDSU was the Big 12 team and ISU was the FCS team.

For the life of me I couldn't understand the Cyclone fans talking smack towards the NDSU fans leading up to this game. I never did. The UNI game last year was all I needed to be reminded of to know better.

I just hope CW, Blum, and others own up to the fact that they had no business pumping everyone full of sunshine for months leading up to this game. We have no right whatsoever to do that until we actually see something on the field to back it up.

Hopefully between the UNI game last year, and the NDSU game this year, we've all learned a valuable lesson regarding ISU football.

A true professional would not go onto a show as a guest and act as arrogant as that bison.info guy did. If we have Baylor or OU guys on before our game, they' ll at least show some tact. That's what the big surprise was.

It could have easily been worse though. If NDSU didn't use up every second of the play clock on nearly every play, they probably would have had time to score another 2 or 3 TDs. This game wasn't as close as the score indicated.

You would have thought cyclone fanatics would have learned this last year after losing to UNI, yet the condescending trash talk only increased. It was almost comical if it wasn't so stupid.

Get angry and bash the man who makes an over confident prediction for how ISU will do in a game instead of being angry with the people who actually are in charge of getting the team ready to play. Makes sense to me...

I kinda think the point was CW and Brent making so much fun of the NDSU guy and his prediction...
