I am always careful to not "burn any bridges" with employers here in the dsm area. I can only imagine what some are thinking of Coach Chizik after that ordeal was all over the national media.

It is gonna be tough for him to earn "respect" again.

Must be a smart guy cause he knows that he doesnt want to look for a new job when he gets **** canned in 2 years when they figure out he cant coach

HEY CHIZZLESTICK,i am available. i havegot very fine coaching credentials- let me coach your line-i will be certain that you will only win one or two games a year. i got a special defense that i can install called the SIEVE(SP).that will at least make you win one game a year. call tom osborne for credentials-he would give me the best reference. you can be certain that you will have auburn boosters all over you when you deliver two consecutive 1-10 seasons. that is why they hired you. they saw that perfect record at ISU.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose he could always sell satellite TV in Auburn if this doesn't work out. :cute:

I saw this and chuckled a bit. Who wants to join a new staff when the head coach is already on the hot seat before coaching a game? Gene- the chickens are coming home to roost!

This was my thought as well. Mark Richt is pretty stable at Georgia, it would take a HUGE raise to get anyone from that staff to join Chizik, a guy who hasn't proven he can do ANYTHING as a head coach yet.

It would have better if the Georgia line coach accepted, then proclaimed to be firmly entrenched as an Auburn coach, only to tell Gene to bend over, grab his ankles and get "chiziked" while he changs his mind and heads back to Georgia.

HAHAHA THAT IS FUNNY:notworthy::notworthy:

Hi Stacey….this is Gene Chizik, how are you.
Great, Coach…..how about you.
Ideal….found my dream job here at Auburn and would love to have you join me.
Yeah, I’ve been following your progress on ESPN. What do you have in mind?
Well, I’m looking for an offensive coordinator.
Hmmmm…..you’re not bringing your OC from Idaho State?
No…..and it was Iowa State, Stacey.
Oh, yeah, sorry. Was there a problem with him?
Ah, well, er, I don’t think he wanted to leave Ames. (cough)
Well how about your assts….are they all coming with you?
Stacey the one think I’ve learned in my two yrs as a head coach is I need good people….like you! I would like to focus on quality at Auburn.
HMMMMMM……..you know Gene I’ll be staying at Georgia.

Why would any successful assistant work for this guy?

funny how he repeatedly would say that macfarland in his opinion was one of the best o line coaches in the country..apparently he is not good enough to develop players at auburn but was at iowa state. thanks again gene.

when i saw this on the bottom line this afternoon i rewound the live tv and watched it over a couple times. made me smile.

I was surprised that made the ESPN ticker. Does that type of stuff usually make the news. Or does the Georgia coach have the same agent as Stevie Alford and figured he should have a press confernece to say he is not doing anything? But, I too was smiling when I reallized Chizzlestick was getting turned down.

That is the first time I remember seeing a non-name coach show up as turning down a position. When Muschamp and Jimbo Fisher changed teams or stayed, that was worthy of a ticker line even as assistants. For a line coach to make the ticker shows either a sloooow sports day, or the guy has Scott Boras as his agent.
