I'll never understand this train for thought. Who cares if recruits want to play a slower style of basketball? Obviously lots of good recruits want to play there (just look at the past few years). This would be like the fans of a PAC12 football team making fun of recruits for going to an SEC school since they don't score as many points as they do. I don't get it.
Cheick isn't coming here. There are people on this board with inside sources. Who those are I'm not quite sure but the fact that there isn't single person on this board who thinks we have much of a chance if at all of landing him tells me all I need to know.
I have to admit that it is just awesome that we are still posting how we have little to no shot at Diallo going forward 11 days after the thread that said we have little to no shot at Diallo was first reported. This thread is just one of so many reasons I love the passion in this fan base.

obviously he is meeting with all these other coaches to tell them thanks for the time but he's going to be a cyclone
While I know we aren't recruiting Diallo anymore... I still am curious to see who does pick him up. I am really hoping Kentucky picks him up. Would be so fun seeing him run the floor for UK
The "real" fans already know and accepted that Diallo isn't coming here. The hope of a meltdown is not gloating in Diallo not coming here, but rather an "I told you so," to the delusional homers here still thinking (even worse aruging) that ISU still has a chance.
Whatever happen on Yakwe's visit, was that the time that we were out of the recruitment for Diallo?
That's a laughable perspective. Nobody on this site has expressed more than a longshot's hope of getting Diallo. So if he doesn't come here, it will turn out that we were all correct. How does that leave room for any I told you so's?
'Real' fans? That's just ignorant. Hoping for an 'I told you so' moment vs your own fan base is petty. Let the hope live as long as the people want. We'll find out soon enough.
those same delusional posters will also puff out there chest at correctly predicting a blue chip recruit picked a blue blood school.
Someone reported that he would meet with Fred after the Jordan Classic or whatever it was, but I am skeptical on that report as Fred will be laid up for a while. Could be that TJ will meet with him, or it could be that the report was completely wrong.
The people who know (CW, Hines) have said that it's not looking good, but no one that I know to have sources has said that there is no chance.
I have yet to see a single reliable source say that we aren't recruiting him any more.
This is a laughable perspective. In this thread and the other mega-thread, there are many posts about our chances of getting DIallo. There are posters still were challenging that after Cyfan's insider info and MA leaving, still stating they liked our chances and asked for links showing he's not coming here.
My "real" fan comment wasn't serious. It was mocking the person who was calling others as "fake" fans. We're all fans here, some far more delusional than others.
I don't like "I told you so," to our fanbase, but when they become delusional, it's nice to see them back to reality. I want to stamp out the delusion, which separates us from Hawk fans.
Really? Cite one quote from the past couple weeks where someone said Diallo was likely to come to ISU.
All I've seen in that time frame are posters saying we have a long shot, and that he's likely to go to UK, KU or St. John's. Would love to see what posts you find that say Diallo is likely to go to ISU....sarcastic posts excluded.

Strawman at its finest. I didn't state anyone said Diallo was coming here. I said people stated they liked our chances or challenged those citing people "in the know" that he's not coming here. They were basically blind optimists.
It took me a whole few minutes to simply scout pages 28-32 in this exact same thread, where some posters had to keep telling people that ship as sailed, to even YOU. (Page 29 bottom in this thread.)
