Cheikna Dembele

Welp, that's that. I expect a commitment announcement to Syracuse next week, followed by an investigation-marred Syracuse experience that kids just don't seem to give two ***** about.

Investigation or no investigation, they are still considered a blue blood, and they still made the Final Four this year.

I will say, earlier, Dembele really seemed to like that Iowa St was in on him early, so hopefully that still carries some weight. That said, he really seems to be the prototypical Syracuse big.

Nah, they in the game way too late. Their coach is gonna retire any moment now too.

I know what you're getting at but I wouldn't consider Syracuse a blue blood.

Yeah, it depends what you consider a blue blood. They are a basketball school, with program history, and a HOF coach.

My top tier blue blood schools would be, Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, and Michigan St.

Arizona and UCLA are what I call West Coast blue bloods. Meaning they have history, and can get most the top level kids in the West, but haven't won enough lately to be considered a national powerhouse.

I'd put Syracuse at the top of the second tier blue bloods, along with UCONN.

Syracuse is def a blue blood. Here is how you can tell. Did they cheat and then not get a harsh penelty? Yes. Then they are a blue blood. If they barely cheated, then almost got the death penelty. Then they are not a blue blood

I don't think it's been posted here, but as I was looking for any updates on Dembele's recruitment, I stumbled on a little news piece on him. At this point, id prefer Cheickna over the grad transfers we're looking at.

What was that in there about Adidas? A rep helped Cheikna to get into organized games? I wonder what that included.

Of the lists I've seen I think NC State is the only Adidas school involved.

IF MSU is a blue blood then so is Cuse. MSU fell off in the 80's pretty bad.

What? Since 1999 (17 seasons), they've won 6 conference championships and 5 B10 tournament championships. They've been in the Sweet 16 12 times, the Elite Eight 9 times, 7 Final Fours and a championship.

NCAA tournament results are equal or better than Kansas or Kentucky in all categories, as well as North Carolina or Duke with the exception of them each having 2 championships. Am I missing something? Am I on Impractical Jokers?

Assumed he meant since the 80's. If their brief fall-off 30 years ago knocked them out of blue-blood status, than I guess the definition is different than mine.
