Cheikna Dembele

ISU's basketball record all-time is 1316-1281 .507% with 1 Final Four in 1944 LMAO yeah you guys sure have made a lot of noise over the years, all huff & puff fluff
More news than UNLV has made lately... At least ISU is relevant at this point in time.

At this point, I just really feel the need of a standing ovation to Rebelution. Come on, stand up guys and clap. Can't say I've had this much fun in a thread for a while. That says a lot beings how I never even made it fully through his original post. What is that good old Bison poster's name again??? Regardless, better look out dude. This Rebelution might give you a run for your money. In fact, he is already more fun than you ever were.

I have on good authority that you paid $200K to get RV and when asked what ISU could do, we mentioned that we couldn't compete with that price. FWIW

Not sure if my post elsewhere was the source on this, but I can absolutely confirm that that is what I heard, from a reliable, very close source to RV. To be more accurate, RV's dad essentially named the price, and ISU declined to pursue further. I don't know that RV was aware that that was going on. UNLV may not have ever paid to get recruits there, but they do have a pretty big booster in town there...who happens to run a prep school. Not saying that that is how money was exchanged for RV, but there's a lot of ways school disguise payments so the payment isn't actually coming from the school. Boosters take care of that.

It's crazy how time flies though. Had actually forgotten about RV.

RV's handler got a job at the prep school and since he had a relationship with RV before the recruitment process he could give money to RV. Therefore of his handler was making a very large salary at the prep school he could give whatever of that he wanted to RV and it was legal. That is how I was told the money got exchanged and that was from a pretty good source on the old staff

That definitely makes sense, too. RV's mom loved Fred and RV, for a long time, was leaning towards Iowa State. Then there was a sudden shift. I think we saw that play out in Matt A's and RV subtweets right before he committed. Not faulting him for doing what he felt was the best move for him at that that time, but for someone to claim UNLV (or their boosters) don't pay recruits is just silly.

I was also told he silently committed to ISU after the Michigan game.

Its funny shizz listening to you corn-fed dust bowl ISU fans talking about UNLV basketball, first of all the money and hooker jokes is all BS,UNLV has never been linked to any crooked pay-outs,you might want to go look at the Big Ten or other power conferences for that junk, dating back to the Tark days UNLV brought in inner-city kids who may have had troubled pasts or academic problems in HS but the guys they did bring in some went the JUCO route or got their shat together and finally grown up and got enrolled fairly, the NCAA had a witch-hunt out for Tark dating back to his Long Beach St days when he was outspoken how shady the NCAA was and it followed him to UNLV,the main reason Tark stepped down from UNLV is because the NCAA had the UNLV president and AD in their back pocket and tried to dig up dirt on him,the NCAA was still pissed off when Tark won a huge settlement in court against them for unjust accusations and UNLV was also starting to build a UCLA-type dynasty when tons of high-level recruits were all lining up to come there after winning the NCAA championship so the NCAA had to put a stop to it,people were quick to throw UNLV under the bus after this last years team fired Dave Rice and 5 players jumped to the NBA and 4 recruits backed out of their committments,I got news for you, hiring Marvin Menzies and the staff he has put together was the best thing to happen to UNLV hoops since Tark left,UNLV has MAJOR recruiting connections globally with the hirings of Andre LaFleur,Rob Jeter and Eric Brown, not to mention Menzies is a top recruiter himself in the California region and Internationally, people act like UNLV is down and out,6'11 Cheickna Dembele is raw but has 4-Star potential and talent, this kid can make the NBA if he stays 3-4 years,5-Star PF Dwayne Morgan decided to stay after Menzies was hired,4-Star G Canadian player Jalen Poyser decided to stay also,SF Tyrell Green stayed also, this dude can flat out shoot and was injured last year,UNLV brought in the 6'10 Ukranian " Georgie " a stretch-4 PF who also can finish dunks in the lane, they brought in 2 Sr transfers in St Johns PF Christian Jones & USFran's SG Uche Ofoegbu, they got the Spaldings JUCO POY in G Jo-Jo Mooring 26 ppg, they brought over Jordan Johnson who was 2nd in the NCAA in assists last year 8.1 for the 2017 season, they lured in a JC player SF/SG Kris Clyburn who fills up the stats sheet at 60% shooting 50% 3's,they landed two 3-Stars in Chicago players freshmen SF Ben Coupet and SG Zion Morgan, even their 2 walk-ons are ballers, true PG Jaylan Ballou 17 ppg 9 assists in HS and G Larry Bush was 17 ppg and the 2 time player of year on their team in JC ball, they got 1 open scholarship left for 2016 and are maybe trying to get that rugged, physical PF/C Sr transfer from Southern Illinois " BOLA ",UNLV has a ton of offers out for 2017-18-19 for some of the top players in the nation,in another year or 2 they will be landing a few of them and be back on the map in no time,UNLV basketball is on the rise and will be a powerhouse out West very soon, even this years team that Menzies had to scramble to put together after a depleted roster can still win 20 games in 2016,Marvin and his crew are bringin' back the Runnin' in the Rebels basketball program ... press and gun

I thought UNLV was the Runnin Rebels, not the Run-on Rebels. I must've been wrong.
