Found this video of Boozer in action... no clue if it's been posted or not but I haven't seen it yet.

A few things that jumped out at me, 60% FG and 90% FT shooter in high school. That's good. His shot does look a bit awkward to me, but I definitely don't coach basketball for a living. Also he's somewhere around 6-3 or 4. Apparently McDermott likes his guards fairly tall.

Wow, that is a pretty nice highlight video. Hes got a good game, he can shoot from outside despite his ugly shot, and he is a slasher in the lane. People are talking about him redshirting, but he can do alot of things that could contribute to this team.

I think his shot is a little unconventional from what I saw. Looks like he threw up a lot of "junk" and off-balanced shots that went in. Against better competition not sure that is going to fly. I like his strength and willing to take some contact though. Might not be a bad prospect but some of the tendancies I saw will have to be corrected. Anyone notice his FT%? Said 90%, that's one thing I hope that stays true in college.

That is an unusual shot. The coaches can fix that. I like his size though. Height and width. Looks like he will not get muscled around like our current guards do. Also like his bloodlines. I would have to watch more games to see how quick he is. It's hard to tell in those type of games because that is certainly not Big 12 pace.

Thank goodess they showed the slow-mo replay of this foul shots.... ESPN doesn't do that nearly enough.

ugly shot, good raw skill, McD will add polish.

You have to remember those highlights were a few years old. I think they were just before he was a senior, so his game might be a little improved. I've seen some sights listing him at 6'2'. It is hard to tell but he looks a little bigger than that. He is quick, hustles, and isn't afraid of contact when he drives, which we need. It just worries me a little because he wasn't recruited and yet his brother is a star. Then again Wesly Johnson wasn't recruited hard either. I hope he is a good fit.

But it's not like he has to be good. Sure we want him to be, but we have guard help coming in 08 with Eikmeier and Buckley.

His shot may be unconventional, but his free-throw shooting percentage indicates that it works. Perhaps he should teach some of our current players, who aren't very good at the free-throw line, to shoot like he does.

I remember Kenny Pratt had a shot that never looked good, but no one could stop it either.

I doubt that his stats are 100% accurate. If you notice right before it cuts to the video of him, there is some small print that said all of the stats were provided by the player or his representation.

I'd say his shot looks fine...Not overly explosive....Good feel for the game...Greath Strength

He'll be interesting

I remember when GMac was discussing the recruits after the fall signing period and mentioned Boozer's mental toughness. I think that was one of the main things that GMac was looking for...

His unconventional shot reminds me of Mike Taylor.....lots of spin on the ball

His stat line of 41 assists to 49 turnovers in highschool ball has me a little worried.

After watching the video again I do notice he seems to have a very quick release on his shots. Some of the shots he took at first seemed to be a negative to me because it looked like he was often throwing up wild shots rather than looking to pass or waiting for a better look. But then I got to thinking that he will be a 2 guard in our offense and w/ Garrett or Buckley playing the point he will be counted on to catch and shoot quickley. So I guess the faster he can shoot it and from any crazy angle the better.
