***CFB Transfer Portal 2022-23 thread***

just curious what your confidence level is on this?.....
Many Hawk fans are convinced he's theirs.....
No clue on either....
I know the family a bit. He really likes Dekkers as his QB. He seems to like the IA program as a whole better than ISU. This isn't a done deal at all but I am told he is an ISU lean. I'm pretty confident but again it isn't quite a done deal.

Isn't he a WR? If you are a WR and go to IA you need to be committed to a mental institution permanently.
well I'm sure they're really selling McNamara, and playing time since Johnson and Bruce transfered. By the way, have I missed where those two are transferring to?

McNamara isn't going to change ****.

I think Johnson is going to KState

Iowa hasn't had a relevant NFL receiver since Tim Dwight, and he played a majority on special teams. Most Iowa thing ever

Xavier Hutchinson will Never be labeled as a college transfer portal player. He is a JuCo Transfer that was very successful. Like Seneca, Crutchfield, etc. So why aren’t JuCo’s listed on the college transfer portal? Because they are not the same. It was a stupid comparison. Case closed.

Crutch was a high school guy. I know because our family hosted him for his visit. Back in the day they used to have host families. We hosted him, Peanut Fryer (Irving Fryers little brother) and a few others. It was our job to be super nice. We didn't get Fryer since his brother was a star at Nebby but we did get crutchfield.

If TeSlaa commits, were gonna need a shirt with his face on it and the caption Absolutely Electric

His family didn't even see this coming. Arkansas.

Crutch was a juco guy.

As a high school senior, Crutchfield was all-state in football, Cincinnati's second-leading scorer in basketball and an all-city catcher in baseball. But his grade-point was just below the mandatory 2.0 for a Division I-A school, and he was placed at Waldorf (Iowa) College by the then Iowa State coach, Earle Bruce. When Crutchfield became so unhappy at Waldorf that he tried to quit and go home, Duncan moved him to Garden City, where he would be under the watchful eye of Duncan's friend Ray Sewalt. "He wouldn't allow any recruiters to talk to me," says Crutchfield, "and my mail was all intercepted. But I was going to Iowa State all the way and I didn't really mind." Sewalt's other contribution to Crutchfield's career was to state unequivocally to a reporter that "Dwayne Crutchfield is better than Earl Campbell." That one still gets a fair amount of play around the state of Iowa. "Coach Sewalt meant well," says Crutchfield, "but it put a lot of pressure on me."

Crutch was recruited by Iowa State out of high school. But did not qualify and was stashed at the JC level, from there he then went to Iowa State for his final two years.

Great story of Crutchfield being hosted by your family as a high school recruit. Crutchfield went to a junior college his first two years. Did your family host Crutch again when he was recruited as a JuCo?

Crutch was from Cincinnati. Earle Bruce recruiting hot spot.

Dwayne Crutchfield (1980-81) 6-0, 225, Cincinnati, Ohio (Garden City [Kan.] Junior College)
Crutchfield burst onto the scene in 1980 by breaking Iowa State's then single-season rushing mark with 1,312 yards. Crutchfield was unlike any other runner the Cyclones had ever seen. He wasn't fast, or very quick, but as head coach Donnie Duncan put it best, “He's like a bull coming out of a chute.”

Crutchfield punished would-be tacklers for 11 touchdowns and a 4.6 ypc average in his All-American junior season. He had seven 100-yard games in 1980 to earn first-team All-Big Eight honors. Crutchfield reached the 1,000-yard mark again as a senior (1981), running for 1,189 yards. He is one of seven Cyclone running backs in school history to amass 1,000 yards in a season multiple times.

Crutchfield went on to play three seasons in the NFL.

Campbell is confident with the guys we have in the locker room. We have talent on the OL, our coach wasn’t a capable B12 coach

Outside of the KU and TCU game, Gilbert had a good year.
Question for those in the know: Can a kicker once he comes to college level actually get stronger to help his leg much to kick farther? Or can multiple reps/technique only help with accuracy?
