CF Experts Pick'Em: Week 3

Dave Zawilinski.... being a hok homer isn't going to help your picks. Iowa State rolls 52-0.

"The Voice of the Fan" picked up to beat Iowa last week by a larger margin than WIU this week. Awesome.

Yeah. Western Illinois is better than Iowa is :jimlad: Most of that was a completely obnoxious pick last week. I didn't actually think we would do that. This week, I just think we will call off the dogs early and W. Ill will probably grab some garbage points.

I actually thought that you were being completely honest with us. I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN THIS PICK 'EM GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::realmad::realmad::realmad::realmad::realmad::realmad::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Haha...I always pick the way I think the game will happen with ISU being the exception. I will go all week thinking that picking ISU is stupid and then I will do it. The thing is though, the spreads usually seem to large to me. So, while it looks like I am being ridiculous when I pick ISU to beat OSU as a huge underdog, I have actually just picked them to cover. Winning or losing is of no significance. If I am going to side with ISU, I just as well pick them to win the damn thing. I proposed last year that we get extra points if you pick a 10+ dog to win and are right. No one else liked my idea and CHris called me Diamond Dave because I was the only one that picked us against OSU and was right. I was offended.

Because it's an irrelevant game in the world of college football and even ISU. The only people who care about it are Iowa fans, UNI fans, and Cyclone fans who have the little brother complex.

The only people who don't care and live in this state are cyclone fans who have an irrational fear of being called 'little brother' by idiot hawks.

It's UNI versus Iowa and I don't give a **** about it.

I have no irrational fear of being called little brother. We are, at least currently, still "little brother' in this state because we went 15 years without winning a football game and that made Iowa the school to like. Little brother in my mind has nothing to do with level of talent on the playing surface. They see us as little brother because the number of Iowa fans is greater than the number of Iowa State fans.

That all said, 99% of the time someone mentions the Iowa/Iowa State game as either team's super bowl or calls Iowa State winning a big upset because "little brother" won is an idiot.

And me I guess. I really don't care. It doesn't influence me, give me any more information about a future competitor, or in general affect my life. The game means nothing and I don't understand why it would matter to an ISU fan. That is, unless you are hoping for an Iowa loss so you can rub your Iowa fan friends nose in it, which is the little brother complex. I care about Iowa one week a year as a Cyclone fan.

I don't know. There are just as many, if not more, Iowa fans that would love to see us lose to W. Ill. Is that little brother syndrome or just a rivalry?

Little Brother. If they had won, there wouldn't be as many. The interesting thing is they are recent little brother and ISU long term little brother so both fanbases have the complex to some degree. I guess, to me, it really doesn't matter what team it is but I don't care what they do if the outcome doesn't affect ISU. I just don't. I wish every team won all of there games except when they played us.
