Info: CF Credit System Explained Updated 1/4

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

I'm going to be saving up all of my credits for a new CF decaled car.

Jeremy, how much is that going to cost me?

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

ya, this site is good for finding some cyclone news, but for us lurkers there is way to much bs posting on this site. This new system will really help out with all the postwhoring that already goes on.

It's really a double-edged sword. Features keep people coming back but also introduce new distractions from the main discussions. But also, just discussions don't necessarily keep people coming back so you have to introduce new features. It's something I've tried to balance but I've also realized not everybody is going to be happy with each change or addition. We'll keep trying though and hopefully we'll introduce something you enjoy.

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

I think rep should stay as rep and not bought. It is cool to see what people have thought of your past statements by their actions and not just what you have bought.

Gotta have something to do in the summer and all those times when you just do not want to talk about ISU. Like the beginning of this football season.

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

Darn, so people who just start will have more credits than me. Well whatever.

here I think if I quote you you get a point ... err a credit, my mind is spinning with all this new lingo.

Oh, and make a poll - its a good investment if you know what I mean.

i hear what your saying and not trying to discourage anything going on this site. I'm thankful that it is here, and I visit it frequently. There is just to much random postwhoring of random thoughts that are way to irrelevant to participate.

Can we put a dollar sign in front of this? Send me a bank certified check? :)

I like the color blue.

On a more serious note... no buying rep. That just defeats the purpose

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

This seems like a really cool new feature.

What can be done with these credits?

I haven't finished all the features that will make the system useful yet but I'll keep working on them and post more about the specific features in the near future.

And you get credit for each word that you put into a post? So if you don't really have anything worthwhile to say, you can still keep on typing with a hope to build up that large credit bank? I guess I'll have to manage to extend my wit and humor beyond the quick one-liners that I've grown accustomed to typing out.

Do I get extra quote credit by having a quote in my signature block?

Great idea, CF. This new feature will just rock. Or something like that.

Well I have it set to give you 1 point for every word up to 100 words. That can obviously be adjusted if need-be but I thought it would be a great way to help promote longer or more thoughtful posts.

I don't have the signature setup for anything since it doesn't change much and is just a static field for the most part.

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

the on-slaught of stupid...pointless threads is iminenet

Re: CF Credit System Explained (Part 1)

Well we may need to have a day or two of testing and then resetting of the credits if the stupid posts become a problem. Obviously the feature is supposed to help things but if it does otherwise, we'll have to do something to fix any problems:)

But with the credit-per-word feature, atleast they will be better thought out stupid pointless threads...

Or possibly more rambling  Lets hope for the former...

Lets see that was... only 28 words. I'll have to work on that :skeptical:
