*** CF 2022 BRACKET COMPETITIONS: Prizes include ... Info Here ***

We did brackets as a family a few years ago, including our mini-dachshund. Put names of competing teams in plastic eggs, along with dog treat bits, rolled them on the floor, and gave him the dog treat from the one he picked. Went all the way through the entire tournament bracket. He made some strange picks, including an outlier to go far.

And yes, it came through, and he finished far ahead of me!
That's a lot of dog treats.

I ran a tournament pool at work for quite a few years, and I usually used a seed-weighted format. I think it motivates/rewards people for going chalk-heavy. It's common for people to go gung-ho for a R64 home-run, but not so much picking some major upsets throughout each round. I'm not sure if it actually DID motivate anyone (beyond me) to pick differently, but I like it. It can come back to bite you at times, of course, but only if you go overboard w/ upsets (usually).

OK, I've never thought about it. How does a seed-weighted format work?

I could imagine a scenario in which you get points based on the seed of the team you pick (with its value doubling each round). Go all chalk in Round 1, you get 144 points. Pick one 13 who getsthe upset and you get 153 points (144 - 4 + 13).

Now that I started thinking about it, I really like the ides of a seed-weighted tournament.

You have the gist, yes.

It can be whatever increase in points per round you wish, doubling is most common. Usually how I did it.

Made my men's picks then my women's picks got an error message. I think the system thinks I made my women's picks when I did my men's bracket.

I had a similar problem.

I did my women's picks first, then men's - I went back to women's at one point to view it, and bracket was messed up, like it was a combo of the two -- it showed teams from the men's bracket listed in the position on the women's or vice-versa. I finally just deleted the women's bracket entirely. I'm afraid to start from scratch on it, thinking it'll screw up my men's bracket.

I had done men's first so deleted then did women first then men second and I think I'm good for both now.

Anyone know how to see the your bracket? I filled out one for both the men and the women in this challenge and can't see them.

1. Click on "Your Brackets"

2: Click on the 3 dots on right-hand side of page under Options and hit "View".

I like the way the Leaderboard doesn't just rank us by points, but also by points possible within each point group. Makes me feel better to know that I'm currently ranked #47, not just tied for #84!

Frankly, "points possible" is probably a better indicator for ranking anyway. In points possible, I'm tied for #57.

But if I use both, I'm only one behind the current points leader in points possible, so I'm going with being tied for #2 right now.

Oh well, there goes my bracket. Looked good for Texas Tech for awhile tonight.

I'm still on the first page, but with 3 of my 4 final four teams gone.... I will be dropping like a rock.

My only Elite 8 team left is the one I most wanted to lose: K-Boo.

Hoping we are the ones to eliminate them.
