CCL Starts Tonight!

The Burton thunderdunks are what will impress the Average Fan.

What impressed me was ....wait for it....Noskowiak. He's like a larger, lankier Clayton Custer. A very cool-headed looking guy, lanky and long, and a great defender.

Morris is unbelievable 'in person' like this. He just toys with defenders, makes every other player look like a beginner.

Matt T. looked steadily improved from his previous 2 years, and that's exactly what we need from him.

Concerns? No Hallis, no Naz. It's assumed they're still on the heal, but the quicker they're back, the better I'll fee.

How about we postpone the "championship" hype until then?

No way Naz will play in the CCL. Also I thought Cooke was already ruled out of playing in the cap city league this year. Maybe he will be back for the end of it.

Royce White made the term Point-Forward commonplace.
I'd call Deonte our Power-Guard. He's got very good ball handling, was raining some threes, and when he drove to the hoop people got out of the way then he finished. Yes, I was there in person. He and Monte had quite a bit of playful banter as they were on opposing teams.

I was reminded a great deal of Royce, yes.
Monte was smart enough to get out of his way. It was fun watching the two of them match up.

I only stayed for the first two games, but I was most impressed with Babb. He played well on both offense and defense (defense in CCL? Say what?!?).

Noskowiak started out slow, but steadily improved as the game progressed. Same for Thomas.

Burton could probably bull his way to the rack anytime he wants. I mean, there's no way I'd step in front of that dude when he builds up a head of steam. My only dig on him from the film I've seen and tonight's game is that he has no right hand when it comes to layups. I don't think I've ever seen him finish with his off hand, even when the situation really calls for it. If he dunks half as much as everyone is expecting, it won't be much of an issue. ;)

Think a guard would run burt down too quick. He's got power and skill, but don't see continual energy out of him. He's more about stong bursts. He'd be better on a small or power forward.

He did leave the team. Not exactly sure of the circumstances that led him to play in CCL again this year despite the transfer.

If we would have known what a train wreck the Fred-to-Bulls/recruiting situation would have become we may have put him on scholarship

I believe he is finishing his degree this summer at ISU so he can play right away as a graduate transfer at Southern Miss.

Been drinking some Kool-Aid tonight and came across this gem of a dunk with 34 seconds on the shot clock:

Same channel watch Monte's made basket then Higgins look at him get fouled and poked in his eye and shake his head "no" as he lays down. Guy is completely infuriating. In slow mo just encapsulates what a d-bag he is at 0:57

He's from Des Moines.

Right, but I think the question is more about why he isn't in Mississippi with his new team since most incoming players get to their school in the summer. But that was answered when someone said he is likely trying to graduate from Iowa State this summer.
