Hlas is a class act, would love to have him always cover ISU football and basketball. Mark Woodley from KWWL is great as well on the TV side.

KWWL is actually pretty decent. Both Coleman and Woodley are good IMO.

I've always wanted to have a beer with Hlas.... very interesting guy actually... and I feel he treats ISU fairly... and is also critical of Iowa when they deserve it. Iowa fans generally don't care for Hlas.

Is it worth listening to or just a bunch of hawkeyes yammering that the big 12 and ISU sucks because we lost to Louisiana? Although a couple years ago when NW won the west they lost all the non cons and one was Akron who was awful, Hawkeye fans have poor memories.

This is true.
I have had a beer with Hlas - good guy, good sports writer. The Waterloo TV guys are pretty good too.

Sinclair is terrible. I used to believe their slanted, bias reporting was limited to “news.” Looks like they have expanded to sports. They are really good at disguising editorials as news.

In the Omaha area, we at least get a mention most nights. They covered things pretty well Saturday night, probably more from a celebration of OU losing than ISU winning, they even showed highlights of the TCU/Texas game.

I lived in the Eastern Iowa market up until last fall. It sure is nice to be back in Central Iowa market. KGAN used to always have an annoying sports woman with an over enthusiastic voice. Think she’s gone though.

KWWL does a nice job with their sports. Woodley is an ISU guy (I think alum) and Rick Coleman does a good job and is fair to ISU, Iowa, and UNI.

First thing...hardly anyone watches KGAN for news (although they have rebounded from their low of getting near 0s on the ratings 10-15 years ago and nearly getting sued by KCRG for libel and copyright infringement).

As others have noted they do fly tigerhawk and Big Ten flags outside. I have taken this up with WMT and their response is "Well we are the "Home of the hawks"". Honestly surprised ISU hasn't pulled their press passes...not like it would hurt coverage.

KCRG...it is what it is They are the market leader in an area that is dominated by hawk fans and they are a half hour away. Saville is a great guy that is just doing his job. Any "slant" is purely just part of the job. I have never met the other two.

KWWL I am sure Rick is great we just never watch them.
