Car remote starter question

My truck had power locks but no key fob from the factory. I had remote start installed and that allowed me to use the power locks. After having the remote start for 2 years, it was worth the investment just for unlocking the doors alone.

Cytech, I hope your neighbors uhf remote control for his dish is not starting your car.

Power locks in a car that doesn't have. I swear I have the only car made after 2000 without any. Wasn't a big deal til I had kids as regular passengers. Now I'd like where I could automatically lock all doors before driving down the road.

Adding on power door locks is an option. Any car stereo shop should be able to do this for you. It involves taking each door panel off and installing an electric actuator in each door. At least one lock/unlock button would also be installed as well as wiring between the different parts. I'm not sure of the cost but if you call any car stereo shop and tell them what kind of vehicle you have they should be able to give you an estimate over the phone.

I have only had remote start for a month, but I never want to go back. Parking in the North lot at Hilton I was able to start my car from the North doors. Greatest thing ever not having to haul an infant out to a cold car. Don't disable it get it fixed.

Well there are alot of minor things going wrong with my car. And I really just need to make up my mind on if I want to pay to get them fixed, or put that money towards a new or used car.

My car came from the manufacturer with remote start included. Besides the head-up display on the windshield, it might be my favorite feature on the car. I not only appreciate it first thing in the morning when it's freezing out, but I especially appreciate it when it's 100 degrees outside in the middle of the day. I can remote start my car and let the air run for 2-3 minutes and then I don't have to sweat my *** of in a 160+ degree car.

I have a Python Brand starter on my car. If I remember correctly, I can change the amount of time that the vehicle runs. I can also set the car to start every couple of hours. So it might not be a malfunction, but rather something got changed on it. There should be an automatic kill switch (toggle switch) somewhere (either under the dash or the hood) that mechanics can flip so they can work on the vehicle.
