Now I'm super curious about how much safer this would be if the raw meat was irradiated.

Maybe if you ground the meat yourself, and paid very strict attention to the cleanliness of your grinder. Raw beef can be very tasty. Carpaccio, for example, can be delicious. But industrial meat grinders are a real ***** to clean, and can harbor a lot of nastiness. Any store bought ground meat, I would be very leery of eating raw. I still probably wouldn't do it, personally, but I'm not going to judge.

The only time I have seen a cannibal sandwich was snowmobiling in Rhinelander Wisconsin.

I never saw anything like this in any part of WI I have lived in (Chippewa Falls and Stevens Point).
Pickled everything (including Turkey gizzards at the bar) and lutefisk but never a cannibal sandwich.

This was probably 96 or 97, maybe they have grown up. I never participated.
