Cancel ESPN+

Then cancel it. Coming to a message board to tell everyone to cancel something seems…odd.

If you “have better things to do” than watch sports, then cancel ESPN+ - should we cancel Netflix, Hulu, and YouTubeTV too or is it acceptable to keep??
I never subscribed . It's just funny to me that when someone does something in a good natured way people get bent out of shape. Someone asked for a justifiable reason, and I supplied one.

Yes you should cancel anything that you don't feel is necessary in life. There are things outside of TV, but everyone has things they enjoy in life. You're MORE than welcome to keep all your subscriptions, I don't think I ever said anything about everyone cancelling it.

I think the thread title “Cancel ESPN+” is why some people got so worked up. People do not like to be told what to do.

I did not interpret the title thread as telling people that they need to cancel ESPN+. In addition, I did not interpret the OP’s or your post to say people need to cancel ESPN+ now that there no more Mens BB games on the channel. However, others felt that they were being told that they should cancel their subscription. This rubbed them wrong.

Kind of like premium subscribers suggesting that non-premium subscribers should become premium members or when people suggest that others should donate to the We Will Collective. People can be very sensitive when someone suggests something they do not want to do.

I had my first ESPN + Experience this weekend, and it was not bad. I was at the sister-in-law's place in rural Iowa, and they had dish, Hulu, etc. They did not have ESPN +, but a niece was visiting too, and she signed into her home account, and we watched the second half of the game. We had some buffering issues due to internet, but I was fine with the setup for the most part. The navigation was easy too. So, I am out of the "Anti" camp. Cannot remember which wise poster it was who told me in another thread that "Streaming isn't scary", and I just wanted to say Thanks! This old dog learned a new trick yesterday. No more ******** from me!

I just don't like the Espn app because it still makes you wait until the previous games are over before going to our game.

I can't even tell you how frustrating it is to be excited for our game then miss the first 10 minutes because a free throw shooting contest is going on in the first game and it takes 20 minutes to play 2 minutes of game time.

Weird. Honestly I don’t have thst problem in my app, either on the PlayStation or through my phone. I typically pull it up and use it whenever the game before is running late (which is like half the time). They even tell you to switch over to app on the crawler. What are you using the app through?

I have an Apple TV box that I run all my apps through. It's only when the games are on the normal Espn channels, not Espn+. It's exactly like on Dish or cable, it won't let you watch your game until the gsme before it is over.

What app are you using? I have literally never had this problem. If a game goes long they stream it.

I missed the first 10 minutes of the St. John's game because there was a women's game that went to overtime right before. I searched all over the app and our gsme wasn't available anywhere until the women's game got over first on Espn2.

I am not certain, but it sounds like the Apple TV is streaming the live channel which would be different than selecting the game off the App.

You’re doing it wrong. Search for iowa state vs opponent and the game is on at the scheduled time.

The free ESPN app streams it if you do what he said.
No it doesn't, I tried for 20 minutes to find the St. John's game on the app. It was on Espn2 that day I think and I'm signed into my cable provider to get all the normal Espn channels that are on cable and Dish. It absolutely wouldn't let me watch it anywhere until that women's game was over.

It seems that people just want to fight anymore. I don't subscribe to the cave so I'm wondering if political beliefs are the basis. I miss when Cyclone fans could get along.

I think I know what you are talking about...I don't always have all the channels and it'll say stuff like "go to ESPN News or go to the app" and no where to be found. I had that happen more than once.

I don't mind ESPN+ when we have several games as it is cheap (as I don't usually get full cable/streaming packages)....but of course stinks when bigger games are not seen by the rest of the country.

What others have said are true. You can find it on the ESPN app as long as you have a cable sub if the game is only on linear ESPN networks (not E+). If you are not able to find it you are doing something wrong/there’s an issue you need to reach out to the ESPN support team about. It’s how their app is set up, so even if a game is running long you can still find yours. Long story short is if the game is supposed to be on linear TV, when that thing tips, you can find it in the ESPN app under watch.
