Why do you hate ESPN+ so much? Serious question... I will even remove my dumb emoji if you can explain your thinking.
ESPN+ subscription also gets you all the ESPN.com content that is behind a paywall.
I don't know, maybe some people have better things to spend time and money on, after what they watch is finished for the season.
I don’t hate it. I do hate forgetting to cancel a service I pay for and never use anymore, though.
If you want to continue watching sports on the platform, then go ahead and keep paying for it. I don’t watch anything else on there besides ISU MBB and football, so why should I keep paying for it? (I would venture to guess the vast majority of ISU fans are the same).
There’s thousands of fans who hate it to the point where they won’t even pay for it when ISU football/mbb play on it. I don’t blame them.
I do find it a little funny though that the 2-3 users who say things like “you can’t afford it etc” aren’t even premium members of this forum.
At least two of the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament are on ESPN+ apparently.
A lot of us dont pay for it separately. We get it free/included with our other subs.
Like Hulu+Live includes ESPN+ and Disney+ So unless we are going to cancel our Hulu+ that has all our TV content beyond the extra ESPN+ content then we are not going to.
Then cancel it. Coming to a message board to tell everyone to cancel something seems…odd.
If you “have better things to do” than watch sports, then cancel ESPN+ - should we cancel Netflix, Hulu, and YouTubeTV too or is it acceptable to keep??

Have you seen some threads on this site? This is far from an odd thread. I’m sure quite a few fans are paying month to month just for MBB and football.

Why Not. ESPN writes a big check to televise Big12 sports. Why not support them.
I realize there is butt hurt over ESPN's possible role in getting UT & OU to the SEC, but I've moved past that & look forward to new Big12.
I already monetarily support ESPN via my cable fees. I don’t need to pay another monthly fee for a service I won’t ever use again until next fall.
I would rather take that money and directly support ISU, this website, or the We will collective.

No issue with your cancelling ESPN+ if you are done watching, I typically do that in early March once the Big12 season is over with as I watch other Big12 games and like to watch UNI & Drake some.
It was your statement being surprised that "people would jump to defend ESPN+". There is a group of people on CF that are critical of ESPN+, mainly it being a subscription based service. But the reality is if the Big12 wants to keep close to Big10/SEC then we need ESPN/Fox to desire Big12 media rights. They will only do so if Big12 fans support those networks through viewership(advertising revenue) and subscription fees.
My only beef with ESPN+ is the production quality. Football at WVU last year was probably the worst game I have ever seen flying the ESPN banner (camera work, missing graphics with placeholder text, and announcers literally cheering for WVU during the game). I know there have been some doozy of basketball games too. The game selection for it is also annoying but I get it from a business standpoint.
Other than that, it is great for those of us out of state who wouldn't have gotten the non-conference games televised on the old Cyclone Television Network or even the old retro syndicated ESPN Plus.

Man, I’m sure glad the thousands of Century Level donors who give $8/month don’t have that mindset.
