Anyone close to the situation know how his ankles are coming along? Ive heard the stuff in the interviews but haven't heard anything from close to the situation.

With 5 of Baylors top 6 scorers being guards it would be nice to have him available.

Both ankles are sprained according to McD, so who knows what a timetable will be.

This is a slight change of subject but what exactly is the story on Cameron? His bio on Cyclones.com says he's from Illinois and I'm curious how he ended up at Iowa State as a walk-on. He's becoming a player that I like to watch and he sounds like a good example of a kid who works hard and earns playing time while representing our university really well.

Any insight for us Mrs. Clark?

He just came to ISU to go to school, but decided he would try out for the team. He tried out, and made it. That's pretty much the story!

Did I hear he could be on an acedemic scholarship if we/he wanted too? Has anyone heard this too? Not sure how accurate.....

Haha, anti-climatic but fine by me. Hopefully he'll be one of the big success stories in Iowa State history by the time he's done. Another dunk in a game like that one in practice would go a long ways!

Interesting...kind of like a "while I'm here I may as well give this a shot" type of thing.

Could be one of his better decisions so far.

I remember another walk-on from Illinois that did all right for us in the 1980's that was also a good student. No pressure, but if Cameron can be as good a student, person, and athelete as Jeff Hornacek, we will all be real happy!!!

Alright I'll shed some light on Cam. First off i'm his uncle and I attended ISU 1999-2003. He used to come visit me during his breaks from school. He played pick-up games with some ISU basketball players from those years. He did a pretty good job sticking Tim Barnes acouple of years ago. He's a hard worker and proved this by walking on to ISU's squad. He takes care of business off the court too (them books) If u see him on campus make sure he's going to study table. :) "Work hard so u can play harder." Any more questions hit me up.
PEACE

Awesome, thanks for the info!!! Always good to have family of the players on here.

Here is a question, did Cameron have any offers coming out of high school? With his athleticism, it would seem like he would at least get some mid major interest. Or has he developed allot in the past couple years and flew under the radar in high school?

Wow! With 13 and now you we have a lot of Cylone B-ball "insider information!"

Great first post!

He had acouple of offers from D2 schools, but with his grades he felt he should be in a good academic setting. Playing in the Big 12 was icing on the cake!!! His coaches loved him because he always had good Defense, and a good attitude. He also is an offensive machine, BUT he also listens to the coach alot. All he needs is the coach to say "Cameron if u have a good look take the shot." You'll see his other side if he is given the opportunity to shoot without fear of being taken out if he misses!!!

That makes sense about the offense. The three he took against ND surprised me because he shot it with no hesitation at all. It's good to know he has some potential on offense. I really think he could end up being a good player for us.

Some people here might kill me for this, but he reminds me of Chauncey Leslie, who played for Iowa a few years ago. Same kind of build and athleticism. Leslie had no offense his first year at Iowa, but then turned into a great scorer for them his second year.

alot of bi-polar hypocrites

I thought it was terrible if a walkon played much or could even start, that it would mean McDermott was the worst recruiter in history, and we wouldnt win more than 3 games. Now everyone is praising and cheering on a walkon. Which is it?

I hope you are not talking about me. I haven't said anything like that.

Does it enthrall you to have such diarrhea of the fingers? I mean seriously, I've never seen anyone constantly call the fans out like you do - ever.

Almost every single one of your posts are slamming at least one or two fans - most a large group.
