Cameron Lard Eligible at Semester?

Randy also said Monte was from Lansing on Cyclone Insider. I could go on and on. If Randy said it, expect the opposite to be true.

The quote is from Prohm via Randy Peterson on Cyclone Insider. link in the opening post page 1.

Yeah, I saw that originally. Just seems odd that Randy Pete mentioning that in a podcast is all there is on this development. Also, why would Hines not address it at all in his latest holiday break write up or on twitter? An update on a 4 star PF being potentially added to the team mid-year seems like a strange thing to omit.

It seemed like a pretty flip comment by Prohm that he was eligible - I've been sweating this and expected a big splashy headline if he cleared NCAA hurdle.

I will help. Whenever lard gets here, he will be eligible to play. But Prohm currently plans on red shirting.

I think the thought is since the front court sucks, maybe Prohm will change his mind. And he could. But we really don't know and we will find out soon enough.

I don't be think Prohm can redshirt. Pretty sure he's out of eligibility.

This ^ is was what I was expecting before Prohm's comments after the Miss Valley St. game that Lard made his grades, was expected to arrive and be immediately eligible to play. I am curious if CSP changed his plan after talking with Cameron recently and looking at his grades or perhaps he misspoke or misinterpreted.
Right now I expect him to still arrive and red shirt unless there is a ISU release stating Lard is eligible. Though the possibility of adding to this team is intriguing.

I'd be surprised if Prohm changed his mind. I'm not sure he could if they applied for Lard's redshirt status. I don't know how that works. In any case I find it hard to believe Lard would be ready to play Big 12 BB. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well Peterson really didn't help clarify anything with this article...

"Let’s say he enrolls in classes that begin Jan. 9, and now let’s take this exercise one step farther:

Let’s say he’s a full academic qualifier, which is likely.

Let’s say he’s academically eligible to actually play during this spring’s semester.

But will we hear Gary Wade actually calling his name at Hilton Coliseum?

That’s a longer shot than one of Naz Mitrou-Long’s 3-point hoists. His possibility of playing before the 2017-18 season is about about half of Long’s 67 percent long-shot accuracy the past two games.

Nonetheless, it’s a possibility, we’ve heard.

The 6-foot-9 recruit would already be in the post-player rotation if he hadn't been taking three classes last semester, but he will eligible to play this semester — assuming all went well at Pro Vision."

What's confusing about that? He'll be eligible to play, but likely won't.
