No Niang played the 5, Ejim played the 4 and Hogue played the 3.
The point is we had 3 interchangeable forwards that could hold their own defensively and exploit mismatches offensively.

Relatively speaking for a Hoiball team...This is news to me.
Great fallacy, a Gunner special.Welcome to every program not named Duke, UNC, Kentucky or Kansas. I really don't consider our lack of true "big men" over the last several years a problem. We haven't had many/any good 6'10" or bigger guys because they are extremely rare.
There are very few players I would have rather had than Ejim and pretty much no one I would have rather had than Niang.

We have 40 types of defenses though.According to posters on here, we don't run an offense so there shouldn't be anything to learn.
You must be new to college basketball. You'll learn.Ya wtf Purdue has two 6'10" guys. We could be playing that running in quicksand style too if only we were so lucky.
Interesting. I wasn't aware a question could be correct or incorrect.
And Brady would be here if Carter wasn't better, right?
It's fair to say coaches make errors in judgment. Our big men recruitment and development has been atrocious. Perhaps sneaking in developmental minutes like other coaches would help. In the end, helping players get better is helping the team, and there are a lot of inconsequential minutes in a season.
Could be practicing, could be some prep school, I really don't know. That is why I was asking. I just remember a while back, when we were figuring out what was happening with him after he was ineligable, someone saying that he was playing in some games. No idea for who/what level.
Very strange thing to be so hostile over but you be you I guess.Aside from the stupid question at the end, McKay never played for Marquette. Neither Burton or McKay were allowed to finish the year they started. Both had to sit out 2 semesters since they transferred mid year.

I know McKay didn't actually play for Marquette, but wasn't he too late in leaving from Marquette that he was counted as having played for the first semester? I thought that's why he was only allowed the half season with us. I could be mistaken. Does anybody remember?
The plan was to have Lard and have him play all year before the academic issues were realized so I'd agree let him play if in shape and looks ready (and is eligible).
I would want to caution again that fans shouldn't expect anything out of Cameron the rest of the year though considering he hasn't even practiced. That said Solomon Young looks to be ready for minutes so there is a possibility Lard could be ready for a role even if a small one.

Yes Lard is coming. Yes Lard is currently playing basketball. No Lard will not play this year for ISU.

This ^ is was what I was expecting before Prohm's comments after the Miss Valley St. game that Lard made his grades, was expected to arrive and be immediately eligible to play. I am curious if CSP changed his plan after talking with Cameron recently and looking at his grades or perhaps he misspoke or misinterpreted.
Right now I expect him to still arrive and red shirt unless there is a ISU release stating Lard is eligible. Though the possibility of adding to this team is intriguing.
Sort of how Drake made it a game too. Spread you out and drive to the basket. Sound familiar?Think we just lack rim protection and rebounding this year. Considering how many points in the paint mvsu put on us.
Hehe I see what you did there. January is the start of the new year.Yes Lard is coming. Yes Lard is currently playing basketball. No Lard will not play this year for ISU.

He cannot play this year.To be fair, the fact that the bar is set so low right now due to the underachieving front court guys ahead of Lard gives him an outside chance. But that's only one half of the equation. Prohm is not going to throw the kid out there just because hey, how much worse can he be? Lard's going to have to earn Prohm's trust, and considering how hard it is to not only make the leap from AAU or high school ball to Big 12 ball but to do it on an accelerated schedule, it'll be an uphill battle for him.
I guess I'm taking a wait and see approach. If he practices well and Prohm feels like he's earned PT, great. If he's raw as hell and not ready to help this year, well, he can contribute next year and no harm done.
