He had about a five game stretch where he was absolutely dominating at a definite NBA skill level, talking lottery pick if he could have had a full season like that. Crazy fluctuation from his best games to his worst games.
Some of these games are just jaw-dropping for a freshman big man in the Big 12...

Sad story.
After his freshman year, I thought he would be the best Iowa State big man since Fizer. He was a beast. He has passing skills too to go along with his size, athleticism and motor. What should have been.....Some of these games are just jaw-dropping for a freshman big man in the Big 12...

Would have loved to see him in TJ's system for a couple years.
His rebounding (especially offensive) numbers are just silly.
Rodman is the perfect comparison. No real basketball skills outside of being the best rebounder in the history of the game, crafty around the basket, smart about passing out of the block, and bad but not absolutely dreadful at free throws. He could have been that same thing for this generation.
Just don't ask him to dribble or shoot beyond the range of "dunk."
I don't think I've ever seen a Cyclone basketball player with more potential amount to less.
I don't know how well his attitude and TJ's want of... professionalism... about the program would have mixed. But, hey, we can dream. Maybe Cameron reacts to a more disciplined environment positively and starts to unlock his obvious potential. I'm sure Kyle Green could have done some amazing things with the raw material he provided assuming he buys into what TJ and KG and selling and dedicates himself to the game.
Alas. Nope.
There's nothing more frustrating than seeing someone potentially waste an opportunity to completely change the trajectory of their life due to bad decision making under 25 years old.
I agree, TJ's system requires absolute buy-in, so that occurred to me too. Just thinking about raw potential with the right staff, system and level of dedication.
I can't speak for others, but I was in a line of work for a few years where I needed to check this on at least a few times a week. There are reasons to look that go beyond just being nosey. And Cam's name is definitely one that would jump out at me if I were looking.
Hope he gets it figured out. He’s still young. It’s not like some of us haven’t had trouble with the law before.
When I was his age I loitered in a no-loitering zone.
Why post this stuff? Kick a guy when he's down? Lord forbid you ever make a mistake and someone posts it on the internet just to generate some..... what? Feelings of self-importance for being the first to break the news?
