Caleb Grill is Returning to Iowa State

Holy s***.

“Still, he didn’t want to spend another year in Las Vegas. Especially not with Otzelberger by his side.

“I kind of want to get out of here,” Grill said. “We don’t really live in the nicest area of Vegas and it’s 18 hours away from home. The fan support out here is also brutal. I get ruthless (direct messages) from fans all the time that expect a little too much of us because they went to the Final Four in the 90s. They still expect that every year. People, in general, are just rude out here.””

Don’t tweet at players too (not just recruits)!?

For real though, that’s awful that UNLV fans DM’d him rude messages...I’m glad he said he’s had a warm welcome back here and we’re still living up to our brand of strong fan support.

I’m honestly not surprised.

Anybody who tweets anything at players is creepy.

I never have understood that. Its too unrealistic in this world to assume people won't tweet complaining about performances, but why they tag the specific athlete directly is just ridiculous. Yet people do it.

Some pretty awful things are tweeted at lots of players, including ours. This board rips players regularly as well.

He definitely burned his bridge for UNLV if he wanted to yo-yo back but that was probably out of the question for him anyway

Or potential recruits, that makes my skin crawl.
I’m about as big of a recruiting nerd as possible and I can’t imagine even considering tweeting at recruits. It’s absurd that people actually think tweeting at a kid will have any influence whatsoever on their decision.

Wait what? Or he’d have to sit a year, be out of eligibility, what exactly? Could he sit this season instead?

Lol what? Why would the take away his eligibility?

He applies for the waiver and either gets it and is eligible to play 3 years. Or he doesn’t get it, redshirts, and after sitting is eligible to play 3 years.
