Speaking of walk-ons who deserve a scholarship, I'd like to give a quick shoutout to Trent Jones II as well. He should be near the top of the list along with Caleb.

I had not heard of this guy before the beginning of the season. I looked him up for his recruiting profile and couldn’t find it anywhere! I’m assuming he must be a walk-on who made it on to the team.

In my opinion he’s been our best LB and a critical piece of the defense, just wanted to shout him out as he’s been a good player for us so far and I hope he’ll continue to improve

that TD was not his fault. it was on the safety and/or the coaches for a bad defensive playcall. Also he was still connected to the RB who had to make a good play to not get grabbed and stopped by Bacon. In times past we wouldn't even make the other teams have to make a good play to score!

I was at them game and saw him isolated on the RB and my first thought was oh-oh. I watched the Cyclone Express last night and they had the same reaction. Sideline should've called a quick TO.

For us older guys we remember some other pretty good Lake Mills guys. Mike Stensrud and his brother Maynard played in the 70's when we were pretty good and Mike ended up playing in the NFL. Andy Stensrud, I assume the son of Mike, played for ISU around 2000 and then played in the CFL and NFL Europe.
