Caitlin Clark dating Conner Macaffery

I think Iowa is going to miss their post presence more than they thought they would. that can make up for Clark having a bad game.

Just my opinion, but maybe some of these Women College allstars are actually focused more on their Million dollar plus NIL deals and doing stupid Tik Tok videos than playing the game. and I would probably also.

I still think the final four odds are LSU, Iowa, Uconn, South Carolina. I think once LSU gets their head screwed on straight, its between them and South Carolina.

Big Fan of Iowa losing last night in a packed house on FS1 though.

I don't think Iowa makes it to the final 4 this year. They are a very guardable team without Cinzano inside. K-State defended Iowa like teams did two years ago and that's double Clark all over the court and make her either take a contested shot or make the supporting cast beat you. Last year you couldn't do that because Cinzano was automatic if she got a decent look inside. They just don't have that this year. If K-State doesn't have a 6 minute stretch where they didn't make a basket they might have won by 20.

Does Iowa have much else for supporting cast? I knew they had a decent post player last year
Stuelke (the post this year) won Sixth Player of the Year in the Big Ten as a true freshman last year. Can't expect a sophomore to be a complete replacement for Czinano but she's on the right track.

Clark's gravity on the offensive side of the floor lends well to the supporting cast too - longer closeouts, fewer double teams inside, etc. Surprised to see her teammates didn't get more shots last night (but also... not that surprised)

My wife who grew up a tavern hawk and still has relapses of it; has told me she is already of CC. Groaned when I said she would probably be back one more year. Can she be back 2 if she takes her covid year?

Next year would be her covid year. Iowa loses Martin, Marshall and the amish Davis girl after this year, I don't think Clark will want to come back for a rebuild. She has her endorsements and those will carry with her to the WNBA.

Stuelke doesn't have the footwork that Czinano had. She is quicker but Czinano had a funky body shape that made her hard to move and she could hip check a sumo wrestler to the ground almost. Stuelke is leaner and her coordination isn't on the same level.

She was an absolute beast on the post. She could pretty much out physical anyone and her touch around the basket was elite. She was good as a junior but last year she was having to do it being guarded instead of getting easy looks off Clark being doubled. They don't have a replacement for her.

I watched the second half last night. There's just not enough pieces around Clark for Iowa to be an elite team this year. She'll win quite a few games on her talent alone, but they have a ceiling in my opinion, and it's lower than last year's.

Besides KState, Virginia Tech is the toughest team Iowa has played thus far, and Clark took 31 shots in that game.

So when facing a good opponent, Iowa is pretty much a one trick pony.

It is hard to blame a player for team loss but Iowa lost because of Clark.
Agreed. However I'm sure the team will take it because they have won many more games because of Clark than they have lost because of Clark.

And this is coming from an admitted hawk hater and someone who really doesn't like Clark.

She'd probably make more $ at Iowa though, right?
