BYU Postgame Thread

I know how big Sunday was for the program, playing on espn, vitale in Hilton, big name opponent in defending runner up Michigan. I mean it was an amazing day, great win, important for recruiting and the image of Iowa State basketball.

I think I like this win better.

Great, Great, Win Clones... This type of win will benefit the program for the entire year, maybe years to come considering Matt, Monte, and Niang were promently involved.
Fought through tough environment, difficult calls, player depth issues and found a way to pull out a win against a good BYU team on the road. Just Wow.

Now get out of Provo and never return again... don't even look back.

Good PT for the freshman and I believe they have a bright future ahead of them with more quality experiences like that tonight. Both need to work on the "D" and their passing. Great Game Cyclones

Standard Disclaimer: Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for Cyclone Basketball. Side effects may include excessive alcohol intake, inability to sleep, giving up on your team mid way through first half, and dry mouth.

Don't forget sore throat, loss of voice, potential injury due to outbursts, thrown property damage...

My take on Kane. He was going for the hard foul, but drago didn't go up immediately. This threw him off so he just reached forward to foul. Unfortunately for Kane, Dragos eyeball was the first thing he hit. Not a big deal it wasn't on purpose just a really weird set of circumstances.

Gritty win, win, crazy that scoring 90 points is considered gritty but I don't know what else to call it. Thank God for Niang. Houge got screwed on two calls, but that is basketball. Great experience for everyone tonight plenty of coaching points for Hoiberg to build on, and a resume builder for the tourney.

Worth noting, how much will that hostile away experience help for playing at say the Phog? If we can escape Provo with a W...leaving the Phog with a W doesn't seem too much of a reach.

I'm going to give a shout out to Niang. What he did on offense in those last minutes is nothing short of legendary. Three possessions. Three isos. Three buckets.

I'm on board with those not liking BYU. Weird, kind of Annoying, very chippy and whiney. Tried comparing them to our crowd, and we complain about stuff but they complained about EVERYTHING. Even the most obvious calls. Stuff that just confused me as to how they wouldn't see it...

Very soft team. One of those teams I can't stand watching. Their #2 has a little Keiton Page in him and that guy is in my top 5-10 least liked opposing players ever.

Great win for our guys. BYU is good. They don't lose at home. Should be a tournament team if they keep playing like that.

Any idea what the injury was on the Kane foul. Double eye gouge? I realize that Kane was going for the foul and bit on the pump fake but that looked painful. Feel bad for the guy, he got caught up in some unfortunate situations.

I love that win. I love this team. I love our coach. I love this thread and all of you guys. Just full of love tonight. Now going to see if I can share some of that love with my wife.

Note: Had we lost at the end, I may have jumped off my roof. Granted, I live in a ranch so I wouldn't have died but I may have rolled an ankle or something.

This is better.

Thanks for all the love and good luck with that!
