BYU Postgame Thread

BYU was handed the game by the way the two violent fouls were handled in such a lopsided way. ISU was that much better than BYU that they couldn't take it.

Similar violent fouls by ISU and BYU resulted in:
3 BYU free throws
2 fouls on ISU players
1 extra posession for BYU
1 ejection of key ISU player
0 ISU free throws
0 ISU extra possessions
0 BYU players ejected
0 BYU fouls

That's being handed a game. Congrats ISU for stealing it back!

I saw the hand motion but I couldn't tell if it was one finger or the whole hand. Hopefully he was just giving them the brush off instead of the one finger salute.

He was saying ciáo. The students ate it up, they loved it.

Regarding Kane...there is no way that was on purpose. It would be near impossible to turn at full speed and perfectly poke a guy in the eye. It was an accident.

Hate to gripe after a big win but what was the deal with the blocking fouls on ISU. I thought the foul on Houge was BS and there were at least a couple in the first half where the BYU player would lower the shoulder and run right into the ISU defender which I thought should have been charging fouls. The TV announcers didnt seem to have a problem with them so I guess I am the one who's all wet.

HUGE WIN.
Need to work on getting the ball up court against full court pressure though.
Lots of things I can talk about but lets just say I'm freakin happy we won and leave it at that.

Long term we need a couple other guys to step up. We need more than 7 guys to play a season.

To be fair the guys on the court prob have not practiced breaking the press much together.

Why the best teams in ISU history only played went 7 deep.

I've accidentally poked players in the eye & vice versa. Looked bad, but I'd hope Kane is a wise enough to player to not do it on purpose. He may have actually been going for the hard foul to prevent an easy bucket and was surprised to find a face where he was expecting his forearm to be.

Did anyone else come away not liking anything about BYU, the University not the team. Glad they didn't make it in the Big 12.

An accident with severe punishment. Meanwhile their Ivan Drago thug got rewarded for sending an ISU player bloody to the floor. We won a game where we were getting screwed! It feels great!!!!!!

Kane was definitely not trying to poke him in the eye. But both of his hands went at the BYU player's face. No play was made on the ball.

1.) That is the type of game we have been losing seemingly since LE's 2000-01 team. Last year they hit that buzzer beater. Great win.

2.) I am not sure how talented we are in all areas, but we are tough all around. In other words, without Bubu and Armadi this team has some holes and BYU had the personnel to exploit it. Bubu would have had 10 FTs when BYU started to pressure us, and helped on BYU's guards. Armadi's reach is missing down-low and on the pick and rolls. With those two I think we have the depth and talent just below the elite teams.

3.)As expected, Thomas is growing each game. MM got rattled a bit, and hopefully it serves him well going forward. Including Long, if two of the three young guards can have good games, we will be fine.
