Burrito Chain Thread

Strictly in terms of burritos, I would say:

Fighting Burrito > Qdoba > Chipotle > Pancheros

I didn't get many burritos from Fighting Burrito when I was in college, I usually got quesadillas. But now I work in downtown DSM and I frequent the Fighting Burrito that opened up here. They are fantastic.

In general, however, I will not hate on the burritos from any of those places. They each have their own special place in my heart. In the end, I just feel that Fighting Burrito (at least in DSM) has the highest quality of ingredients and the most variety of options (different kinds of tortilla, sour cream, rice, etc). I really like Qdoba's cilantro rice and Roja salsa. I like how Panchero's mixes their burritos. I've actually gotten strange looks whenever I've asked people to mix my burrito at other places.

I've only tried Bandit Burrito in Johnston 1 time and it did remind me of Fighting Burrito a little. They had a good variety of options as well, I just haven't been there enough times to give it an honest assessment.

I always feel like the rice at Fighting Burrito in Ames is undercooked. Am I crazy?

For burrito chains, I'd go Panchero's. I used to think Chipotle was way better, but they're just garbage these days. I don't like Panchero's that much, it's just better than Chipotle.

Bandit Burrito in Johnston is absolute top notch, but not a chain. Pablo's in Cedar Falls is great, and Fighting Burrito is still pretty decent, just not as good as 6-7 years ago.

Pablo's is on the short list of things I miss from living in Waterloo/CF. I know it's borderline heresy for an ISU grad to say, but I think their burritos are better than Fighting Burritos ever were (and I LOVED Fighting Burrito in college).

Pablo's is AMAZING! Incredibly fresh and the best homemade salsas on the planet...
