It would not surprise me if there is not any official release until close to kickoff. The best indicator would probably be if Vegas digs into it and ends up dropping the spread by a couple of points. At this point, almost all of the services are hanging around 6 1/2.

If you don't hear anything today, you certainly won't know anything until the Iowa offense takes the field Saturday. Iowa doesn't just let information out, no matter how hard people dig.

You're right about the spread, losing a player of his caliber would change the equation.

Watching the BTN's live shows last night, they didn't say anything about it. In fact, in their injury update segment, Iowa wasn't mentioned at all.

Yeah, what I was referring to here actually turned out to be a tweet by Dave Revsine, who then took it down.

I'm guessing the media is not coming right out and reporting this with a source, because it hasn't been cleared to do so by the family/program.

It seems like this isn't hard news now. At this point, it's just speculation on a potentially serious health issue that a young man may or may not have. It might be best just to drop this topic until we have actual news.

So...let me get this straight...losing arguably the best WR on the OSU offense that year did not affect the outcome, and losing Bradford did affect the outcome of the OU game? Hypocritical if you ask me, because I don't think losing Bradford was that big of a deal to the talent on the OU offense.

Losing Bulaga is going to affect Iowa...in some way. Will it be a game changer, who knows.

Second, OSU got smoked by Florida so unless Ginn played defense and offensive line, it wouldn't have mattered. Maybe OSU scores two more touchdowns but it still wouldn't be close.

If this is as serious as rumors make it sound, thoughts and prayers go out to Bryan and his family.

I listened to KXNO on the way in to work this morning, and Miller was already busy "managing expectations" for the Hawks performance tomorrow. Basically, he talked like this was a complete game changer, and if I heard right, he now predicts that ISU wins a close one.

Personally, I've seen the Hawks rally around adversity before, so to me this is just one more X factor in a game that's always hard to call. I already expected it to be close, and this doesn't do much to change my mind.

Not saying it isn't a big deal...I'm just saying you can't make a statement like that regarding how much it changes a game. So many things happen from momentum and tempo, and anytime you lose a skill player it is going to hurt. BYU hung with OU...last time I checked Bradford didn't play defense.

Point I'm trying to make is that yes, this will change the game, but no, it won't be the proverbial "gamechanger".

Did anyone hear what KxNO reported this morning? Are they still sticking with their rumor? Any high profile contacts to back it up?

As much smoke as this story is producing I'd expect there to be fire. You know as well as I do how tight lipped colleges are about injuries, come tomorrow during warmups will be the only 100% confirmation about this story.

What I know is this - Hawk fans on this site are the ones pushing and endorsing the story as it were Gospel. I will gladly eat crow if I'm wrong, but I'm not buying it until it's official

No matter what, there was still some excitement there over an injury, and that's pretty off-base.

Actually you are totally right. "IF" indeed he has a career-ending condition, then that's serious. I agree with a lot of other posters on here and hope that truly isn't the case.

And "IF" it does turn out to be accurate, then I'm probably going to hell for making light of it.
