Bring Your Best Hawk Smack and Jokes

why in the world would you even bother reading that rag?
i boycotted the rag many years ago and have been happier for it.

I work at place here in Des Moines where we have people from other states come in, work for several months and then leave.

We had an Iowa State-Iowa tailgate party (the majority of us live here). One guy is from North Carolina. He asked me I was going to go to the game.

I said no. I didn't have a ticket, that the game was in Iowa City and it would be just too long of a day.

He asked me where Iowa City was.

I said about two hours away.

He then asked where Ames was.

I said it is about 35-45 miles from here.

He said he had been reading the paper about the Iowa State and Iowa game and he really thought Iowa City was closer because of the press the Hawks were getting.

I thought his perspective was interesting.

Don't care if this is a nothing post. Don't care if no one believes me.

I believe it. WAY overboard on the Hawk coverage.

(I also think your entire last line was pretty unnecessary. Sorry dude, no pity here.)

It must be an Iowan thing where we think everyone is against us and we never get enough respect. Hell, maybe it's a midwest thing because Nebraska and Wisconsin fans do the same thing.

I believe you that it happened but if ISU was the #9 ranked team in the country that had most of its team back from a BCS bowl win, I think you'd see a lot more coverage.
