No idea how credible InsideTexas is but they’re claiming TxTech might be looking to move on from Wells already. Art Briles is an option as a replacement.
IMO the Big 12 should get involved to block that. That POS should never coach again, let alone back in the Big 12.

I like Wells, and think he is a decent coach. He has been snake bite with injuries.

Idk about Briles coming back but Tech is simply not good. They don’t appear to be progressing either. I didn’t think much of Wells when they hired him, though I know many on here thought the world of the guy after a couple nice seasons in Utah. Fish out of water

Even if you thought Briles learned his lesson and would be a perfect angel, it wouldn't be worth the circus that would come with hiring him. Plus, how do you know he could build a program legitimately?

Unless of course, they're fine with bringing what he did at Baylor to TT.

I can’t see Hocutt signing off on that. Don’t think he’s going to give up on his hire after 2 seasons anyway

I think there’s very few coaches that can be out of the high level game for 5 years and come back to be as successful as they once were.

Not sure Art Briles is one of those guys. I wouldn’t be concerned as a cyclone fan. And I wouldn’t be excited as a TT fan.
