Brighter headlights today

In today's world, maybe lights and brake lights should just be on all the time. I know they suck but isn't this what those weirdos up north do?
For all of the crazy **** that is legally required on cars these days, it's still nuts to me that automatic headlights and daytime runners are not one of those things.

The amount of people I see on the road obliviously driving without their headlights on amazes me. It can be fully dark and some of them are fooled by their driving lights but without the headlights on they have no taillights. The other half are merrily driving along without a single light burning on their vehicle. I wonder if both drivers would get a ticket if someone changed lanes into one of these unlit vehicles at night. They are pretty tough to see.

may of already been said, but I wish they would have something where lights turn on automatically when wiper are on. It may be light out but I still can't see you from all the tire spray.

Since nearly all cars come with LED headlights and the technology is there, I don't know why lights don't dim and brighten gradually instead of HIGH or LOW being the only options. This shouldn't be a problem anymore.
If they can do it at Hilton, they should be able do it in a car....

This problem became worse once cars started having digital and permanently-backlit dashboards. It used to be that when you didn't have your lights on at night, you also couldn't see anything on your dash. No longer the case.

The last 3 cars I've owned have done this when I have the lights sets to auto

Down here driving at night you have to keep your head on a swivel and scanning from ditch to ditch and stay focused on your driving. When the high beams are on its not too bad, but when you meet another vehicle and they dim, when it gets dangerous. I have only hit one deer but slammed on the brakes a million times to avoid hitting them. They are just all over down here, and I wish the hunters would thin them out.

We never allowed hunting on our property until the nth car crash. Problem with that is that there are thirteen miles of human death traps between here and town. That said, have seen city deer walking the streets in Osky and Ottumwa, so nowhere is really safe. What's more, hit the last one in Missouri.

When we got our last snow, I went out with the dogs the next morning and they were sniffing around the back yard, acting all hyper, so I went down and you could see deer tracks in the snow, across the driveway, the yard and then heading west towards the square. Common occurrence here in Bloomfield.

They're probably wintering on the golf course and/or McGowen. Took a trip into town for snacks at Slick's.

First Sunday of deer season about 20 years ago my youngest son and I were putting up Christmas lights in the front of the house. Luckily, he was on the porch, and I was close by the house when this huge buck came running up the sidewalk, less than 5 feet from me. He crossed the street at the end of the block, moving West, and on the Northside of the sidewalk, got to where Boone's Auto repair was. The deer took a hard right and tried to jump through one the of the plate glass windows in the front, broke it but did not get through. He then slides down a window, backed up and plunged through a second plate glass window, getting inside the store. From our porch we could hear it crashing into stuff in the store, then he crashed through a third window and crossed the street, heading South out of town right by the museum. I went over and told the police when they showed up, and the deer had just knocked over about everything in the store. I suppose getting shot at makes you do crazy things.

I just had an eye appointment worried I was getting astigmatism in my eyes since I get blinded passing cars at night (even knowing the other car switches to low beams). Turns out my eyes are fine. The optometrist told me that night time driving complaints are the highest they have ever been and headlights are to blame.

Wish my 2021's head lights were bigger, especially at night. Don't put out enough of a pattern to see deer till it's too late ,even on high beam.

Morning drive today was brutal, ever other car had super bright lights including a car I had to sit and face at a red light.

The one headlight cars driving around seems to have really increased. Can never tell if it is a motorcycle or not. Then whether is their headlight burned out or completely missing. It’s pretty amazing what people do sometimes to their vehicle to keep road worthy!
