I hope fans appreciate Purdy this year and how rare it is to have a really good QB in college football. There are plenty of big name programs that struggle to find a QB for years. LSU went like a decade with bad QBs until they found Burrow.

Martinez is an above average P5 QB, and we saw how streaky he was today.

This is a great post and needs to be reposted for others to see! We have been spoiled to have 4 years of Brock Purdy. He's a border-line NFL talent and will likely go down as the greatest ISU QB of all time. If this team somehow meets the sky-high expectations many on here have (like going 11 - 1), he will have led the winningest 4 year period for any ISU QB. Literally every single offensive play depends on him.

While we have lots of great players at other positions as well this year, I hope people realize how special it has been to have a QB like Purdy over these years. If we didn't have a special QB, I'm confident we would have lost more games. It's the most important position in FB!

One thing I noticed on several plays was that Purdy would've thrown the ball where Martinez didn't. Think of all those passes Purdy threads the needle. I saw so many of those receivers that much open, but Martinez kept balking... and scrambling or getting sacked.

I hope so too…I can’t imagine an easier path to at least 8 wins a year by playing in the Big Ten West.

Thank you JM4CY for posting the link to the Nebraska site- I enjoyed watching their once mighty fan-base squirm. I really enjoyed it.

On another note- reading their thread really took me back to our BMC (before Matt Campbell) days. That thread read a lot like old Cyclone fan threads: praising moral victories, complaining about inaccurate QB’s, questionable coaching decisions, blaming refs…it looked like our threads during our bad years.

Most of all- it made me really grateful for our coaching staff and for CMC. Coaches build programs- and not all ‘good’ coaches can do it. We now have a real team with really, really good coaches…and man, it sure is fun!!
