I need a little help from someone who was able to watch the game last night.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but I was able to track it on Yahoo and noticed that Brackins had ten points very early. Then it seemed that he disappeared. Was he injured, did he get benched, or did he just lose interest? It seems from where I sit that he is beginning to show a tendency to play hard for a short period and then take the rest of the game off.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Just really didn't get many shots off after that from what I remember. He kind of scores in bunches usually anyways.

I have noticed that he typically gets off to a good start in games and then his point production seems to drop off. Hubalek is kind of the opposite; he seems to get going in the second half. In time I think you'll see Brackins learn to post up harder and demand the ball.

With the clones up by so much they were putting a lot of the focus on letting others score who wouldn't get so many minutes (ie Cory Johnson, Lee, Boozer etc.)

Brackins gets more double coverage than Hubalek, which is one reason Hubalek has been scoring more recently. ISU sort of went away from the game plan when they got a big lead early, and didn't get the ball inside. Part of that was because Upstate had 5 defenders in the paint. Another reason Brackins didn't score after the first few minutes was the Cyclones couldn't hang onto the ball long enough to get it inside. !2 first half steals by Upstate.

It wasn't anything noticable...just did his part, then he was part of a rotation.

It was a combination of USC-Upstate making adjustments to double team him, backups getting more play, and Brackins fouling.

Brackins was solid but I think the "disapperance" was a combination of not being the focal point of many plays after the first 5-10 mins and trying to get the backups more playing time against a weaker opponant. How many did CJ have? disperse most of his points between Jiri and Brackins and they may have more solid numbers.

Thanks for all of the information. I was hoping that this was what happened and there wasn't an injury that I missed.

I thought he played a pretty good game. He only played 23 minutes, mostly because of some foul trouble early and because of a big lead we played a lot of subs late. While he was in there I thought he was very active: 10pts, 7 rebounds, and a few assists.

The rebounds are a big plus. We know he can score (albeit in streaks) but his rebounding can use the improvement.

He had to play against their center quite a bit, too, when Jiri was out - the guy was 7'2" and all elbows, and so I think he grabbed a lot of boards out of Brackins' hands.
