Ok, I give mad props to Brackins for nailing 8 three pointers against Baylor... amazing for any player, let alone a PF or Center.

Unfortunately, he had Jiri Hubalek syndrome, and makes a few three and then becomes a gunner.

I have no problem with him shooting the three, but some of his looks last night were forced, and hopefully McD and Brackins will discuss and improve upon this.

I wonder if he has the green light anytime.

He had the green light last night. It also helped open up the middle for Jiri, Wes, and RC.

As long as he doesn't pull a Haluska streak of futility, he can throw up 3 or so a game and I am fine with it.

You know that Craig was told to shoot those. If he wasn't supposed to be shooting 3s, McD would have pulled him and sat him to explain that isn't what he should be doing.

Its all good. We won.

Yes I thought he had the green light at the start of the game. When it wasn't falling.... Coach put a stop to it.

One of the assistants on the radio and McDermott on TV both said that they want Brackins to shoot those threes as him and Jiri are the best outside shooters on the team. Like others have said, it opens it up for other guys, not to mention those two are our best post entry passers at getting it to the other guy. Just because guys get cold we can't abandon the outside game all together.

When every player on the floor is a threat from three, it causes a lot of headaches for the defense. I say keep shooting, as long as they are in rhythm.

even more than Jiri Syndrome, we call it Grant Stout syndrome up here for the people who watch UNI bball as well. because stout's was severly worse than Jiri. As for Brackins, I don't care what he is shooting as long as it's open/a good shot for the time. He's proven he can hit it from anywhere, I just believe he needs to touch the ball no matter what everytime down the court, our offense needs to go through him.

Inside, outside, midrange. I don't care, just keep shooting every open shot. Love his stroke!!!

Id rather Brackins shoot 3s than Haluska shoot the ball at all:)

I don't disagree with you at all, but I think Haluska is a lot better shooter than he has shown us. He is just in a terrible funk. I was watching him in warm ups before the Mizzou game and he couldn't miss a 3. I'll bet he made about 25 of 30. I think it's just all in his head, it seems like he's in too much of a hurry when he's in a game situation and he doesn't get his feet under him. I think once he hits one he will be ok...although he's going to have to hit about 20 in a row to develop a respectable average:-)

Haluska is bound to hit a three-pointer. I also believe it is a mental thing with him right now. He thinks about his shot too much. I just hope people don't start telling me Haluska is good when he finally hits one... only to then go on and miss 10 more... LOL

I also think the line for the OSU game will be about OSU - 3.... I wouldn't expect it to much much different since our teams have similar records at this point and it's at Hilton.

Just realized who Brackins reminds me of (I've heard all kinds of comparisons)...Chris Webber.

This team needs to make full use of their inside height and athleticism because the guard court is not going to score that many points. If a 6-10 guy goes outside and hits some shots, more power to us.
