A 7-5 season is still a real possibility. Baylor will probably win, but Texas, KSU, and WVU are all very down this year. Plus, OU and OSU haven't beaten anybody with a winning record and we might be able to pick them off when they're not looking.

I'm glad Paul got another year so we could see what most of us all knew would happen. Nothing like keeping a failure around to do more damage and make the next coaches job even harder.
Legit question...assuming we can get to 5-7 and the NCAA doesn't actually cancel these cash grabs that are the bottom tier bowl games, does anyone know where Iowa State's APR stands? I saw something from May 2014 that said we were at 928, but I can't find anything more recent. Jerry Palm is predicting eight 5-7 teams in the bowl field this season. Just wondering what would need to happen for ISU to be in the mix. BTW, Nebraska is going to need an upset now just to get to 5-7. Seems unlikely...
I doubt any 5 win teams go. Each year this gets brought up, but there are always just enough 6 win teams to fill the slots.
I agree, but the B12 is a microcosm of CFB this year. Strength at the top, weakness at the bottom. Not a lot in the middle.
I think we look respectable next week.

This year has a lot of mediocre teams ready to bowl. It is a better chance this year.
You must have missed CW's podcast. Jerry Palm is predicting there will be 6 teams with a 5-7 record that will make a bowl.
80 teams will be needed for the 41 bowl games. One of the bowl games is the national championship.
There are 40 this year. As Stormin said, Jerry Palm has six 5-7 teams going bowling this fall. That's down from his projection of eight before this Saturday.
As odd as this sounds, I'd almost rather travel to us at 5-7 in a bowl than 6-6, just for the oddity of it. Let's win 7 to be sure though. :smile:
