Bowen at the Combine

I saw him run his first 40 yesterday and posted a time of 4.8 somthing (not good). He had cut his hair too. Mayock was salking about him and say some pretty good things but mentioned that he was on the light side. I have a feeling he will be drafted late by a cover two team.

There is no more NFL Europe.

That's too bad - I was such a fan of the Cologne Centurions...

Neon Deion Sanders and co. were talking today at the combine about how worthless the 40 is. He said they should only run a 20 yards dash to see explosiveness. They said if your running 40 yards on defense, you're in trouble.

I'd agree with that.

Speaking of cross sport stars from the early 90's:
I saw an article on the combine today that blew me away. It said Bo Jackson has the record for 40 time when he worked out in 1986. The article said he ran it in 4.16...my god that's fast-I remember him as being a bigger back (?)

I wonder if that was hand timed.

I heard Webster Patrick has a 4.05...

There is no way Bowen runs a 4.9. Dude was faster than our safties. This shows how worthless the combine is...or our safties.

Probably a little bit of both.

Does anyone know how they run the 40? Do they get a few chances and their best time is the one kept or do they only get to run it once?

side note: that Daily blog has us winning the Big12 tourney in 2001.... that didn't happen.
