Boone or Marshalltown?

When its that close to ames, ames is a much better option for living.

I was talking more so about the people that hated it as a town. Living in Ames and driving to Boone isn't a bad option if you want to do it that way.

Personally (like others have said) I would take the job in Boone and live in Ames. Not that Boone is all that bad, just that Ames has much more going on with entertainment, shops, restaurants, the university, etc, and there are some really nice neighbourhoods in Ames (lots of parks, trails, etc.)

I'm from Boone and for myself i just would never want to live there, growing up there was bad enough.

If i had to choose between Boone and Marshalltown i would choose Boone for sure. Living in Ames and driving to boone would be my first choice but it depends on where you get a house at in Ames.

Do you really want to be known as a "Boone Goon"
LOL...no. My wife would rather live in Ames. She's just started to enjoy the ISU experience, as my brother's daughter is a junior ahd we've gone to more fb games the last few years. What are the good areas for houses in Ames these days?

Would you prefer to live next to a meth addict or hillbilly? Neither, then these aren't for you.

I'd recommend Huxley or Nevada if you want a small town in the area.

We bought a house in the ridge-wood/college creek area... It's late 90's early 2000's.... you can get a nice home for under 200,000 easily... great park and the new grade school is going up next year. We love it there. It's not stuffy but it's still very nice.

What part of Ames is Reidge-wood/college creek?

West of North Dakota, south of Lincoln way. It goes by a third name as well(can't remember).... I have a hell of a time remembering them all.

I'd live somewhere between DSM and Boone if it were me. 30 minutes to DSM for anything I need, 15 to work. 25 to Ames. PERFECT.

Or if you don't mind a 45 minute commute live in Grimes and commute to Boone. Or go the other way live in Bondurant and commute to M-Town.

if you like a faster lifestyle---take job in boone and live in ames

or if you like slower lifestyle----take job in marshalltown and live in conrad (15 mins north of mtown) if you are into small towns. nice people. no crime. and you get to eat at 'that place' restaurant whenever you want.
