Booker

You mean the second season for a guy that transferred after being a marginal player in the MVC with a reputation of being a post without a post game? Nope.

You should have been in Fred's ear when he accepted the transfer.

I noticed last game that Booker had some horrible body language and mannerisms while on the bench and even when he was on the court. It has to be because of the playing time but we do not need this out of our best post defender. It looked like he didn't want to be there. Hopefully he can shape up.

I sat courtside for the UMKC game. Granted, it was UMKC, but he came in and really gave us a lift on both ends of the floor. UMKC gave KState fits the following week, so they're not "terrible".

I think his thing is getting involved in the offense early and scoring a bucket or two. His energy is totally different. He seems to be the classic case of letting his offense dictate his defensive effort. We'll need him this year in order to get where we all want to go. I hope it starts tonight.

He is a good rebounder and defender. He likes to try to block shots on defense and that is why he gets in foul trouble so often. Offensively he is a good sized body in the low post, but he by no means is as much of a threat as Georges, Percy, or even Ejim. Although he hasn't played a lot the last two games, I have trouble believing he will stay in this limited role the whole season.

Book just needs to figure out his role on this years team, just like Korie did. CFH will get it all straightened out.

He can rebound, he's athletic. However he just doesn't play any defense whatsoever. The reason he commits so many fouls are because he gets way out of position. He doesn't have a role until he can learn to play defense beyond just blocking shots off the glass.

I'm pretty sure Hoiberg called him our "best post defender" at one point.

Anyone else a little disappointed with his usage the last few games? I have a feeling he'll play a bigger role in tonight's game against what might be the most physical team in the B12. He's only played a total of 12 minutes in the first two conference games.

He's shown he can be effective if he's involved in the offense. He's foul-prone...yes. He's also a matchup problem for other bigs and a good defender and rebounder. I can't figure out his role on this team. He should have one.

He has an attitude problem in my opinion. He starts hanging his head as soon as he fouls and then often commits another foul because he's upset. He also makes dumb fouls which you would not expect at this point. If Fred can straighten out his attitude, I still think he can help us down the stretch.

I have been surprised his outside shooting ability has not been capitalized by Fred. After Niang, he's the best long-range big man on the team.

Booker will have a huge game today.

And you all must rep me afterwards.

And I promise this.

I could see it. WV is going to come in banging. We need our big bodies to bang back. We also may find ourselves in foul trouble early. This is the kind of game where we need Booker's minutes. If he can occupy some of their bangers, then it frees up the rest of our guys to do other things.

He's not playing a lot now, but we will need him to play good minutes in a few big 12 games this season when we have foul trouble. I think his lost playing time is more because Niang has stepped up so much, Booker is who he is.

He's only any sort of matchup problem if he can stay on the court. He's only done that once in the last several games.

I still think he's struggling to find his role, and the fouls are probably part of the problem there. He has the size and ability to be a good rebounder and defender, with the added bonus of stretching the floor with his range. Just needs to find a way to settle in and not try to make too much happen when he gets in there.

Thousands of lightly used basketball players fall under the jurisdiction of these words.

Booker does foul a lot, but even when he does block shots he does a terrible job of doing so WITHOUT making it easy for the ref to call a foul on it as well. his downward form on the blocks annoys me. just keep your arms up and tap it to a teammate...
